    510 Batt Connector Source

They're very nice if you're doing a 'buried' attachment - that's how I built my first nicostick.

Why a bigger battery is better from the first second of use ...

I understand what you mean - just seems to be a bit ....nitpicky.

Why a bigger battery is better from the first second of use ...

That's correct. With the small battery, there's going to be a voltage loss from the very first hit off the atomizer. It might not be noticeable to us, but it's there. Like taking a hit via passthrough off a 500ma wall wart vs. a 1500ma wall wart - they both perform, but the 500 ma wart starts...

Why a bigger battery is better from the first second of use ...

We all *are* sort of saying the same thing - you said it yourself in response to ridewithme: A larger battery keeps that 'exact same performance' level for a longer time before it starts tailing off, which is true - every one of us that has built or used a mod can attest to that, and does...

    Best passthrough for the 510

External battery pack or a usb wall charger is the way to go. Make sure you get one that supplies at least 1000ma (1a) for best performance, and 1500ma (1.5a) is even better.

Great article on Big Batt PV's

801 will have more flavor than the 510 whether at 3.7v or 5v. 510 vape will be warmer than the 801 vape at either voltage. Higher voltage on either one results in a reduction in flavor compared to 'normal' voltage. Can't speak for the 901.

    Nicostick trouble shooting please?

It's powering a coil, so polarity shouldn't matter. That said, I *recommend* putting the positive lead through the momentary switch to the center connector. That way, you have the on/off switch breaking the negative lead and the momentary switch breaking the positive lead - belt and...

    Touch sensor switches

Serial describes the electrical arrangement of the batteries - they are connected one after the other. "In series" is another valid description. Both are right, neither are wrong - simply a different word choice. Can we end the silly word games, since everyone now understands what I meant...

    Discussing the NicoStick

fo - Yes, you need an appropriate charger for the batteries. NiMh chargers and Li-ion chargers are two entirely different beasts.

Why a bigger battery is better from the first second of use ...

The e-cig batteries ARE being overloaded and their performance as well as lifespan suffers due to it, that's why we go to the higher maH batteries and passthroughs to begin with. The performance of the small batteries starts flagging immediately - I don't recall who had the post about it, but I...

    Touch sensor switches

I'm not where i can easily get components - I have to order them from Stateside. I also have to squeeze them AND a voltage regulator AND an atomizer connector into a single AA battery space. I'm looking at either the mosfet circuit that kender showed, or a darlington pair like kinabaloo's...

    Touch sensor switches

Ralph - any way you could test your mosfet using the schematic that kender provided? I'd like to keep components to an absolute minimum necessary.

The needle that can save you a lot of work/headaches.

Link to pin - I used the barrel part of of the pin, where the color banding is. Cut off the actual contact, and pushed the barrel down through the 801 battery connector to make contact with the RCA plug end. Simultaneous sealing and enhanced connection, win-win!! I had them laying around...

Touch switch (pocket-friendly, low-profile and cool)

Has anyone made this, yet? Does the circuit work with the component values shown with the atomizer in place of the LED/resistor?
