That's correct. With the small battery, there's going to be a voltage loss from the very first hit off the atomizer. It might not be noticeable to us, but it's there.
Like taking a hit via passthrough off a 500ma wall wart vs. a 1500ma wall wart - they both perform, but the 500 ma wart starts...
We all *are* sort of saying the same thing - you said it yourself in response to ridewithme:
A larger battery keeps that 'exact same performance' level for a longer time before it starts tailing off, which is true - every one of us that has built or used a mod can attest to that, and does...
External battery pack or a usb wall charger is the way to go. Make sure you get one that supplies at least 1000ma (1a) for best performance, and 1500ma (1.5a) is even better.
801 will have more flavor than the 510 whether at 3.7v or 5v. 510 vape will be warmer than the 801 vape at either voltage. Higher voltage on either one results in a reduction in flavor compared to 'normal' voltage.
Can't speak for the 901.
It's powering a coil, so polarity shouldn't matter. That said, I *recommend* putting the positive lead through the momentary switch to the center connector. That way, you have the on/off switch breaking the negative lead and the momentary switch breaking the positive lead - belt and...
Serial describes the electrical arrangement of the batteries - they are connected one after the other. "In series" is another valid description. Both are right, neither are wrong - simply a different word choice.
Can we end the silly word games, since everyone now understands what I meant...
The e-cig batteries ARE being overloaded and their performance as well as lifespan suffers due to it, that's why we go to the higher maH batteries and passthroughs to begin with.
The performance of the small batteries starts flagging immediately - I don't recall who had the post about it, but I...
I'm not where i can easily get components - I have to order them from Stateside. I also have to squeeze them AND a voltage regulator AND an atomizer connector into a single AA battery space.
I'm looking at either the mosfet circuit that kender showed, or a darlington pair like kinabaloo's...
Link to pin - I used the barrel part of of the pin, where the color banding is. Cut off the actual contact, and pushed the barrel down through the 801 battery connector to make contact with the RCA plug end. Simultaneous sealing and enhanced connection, win-win!!
I had them laying around...
