I think there is only one 'standard' type 510 passthrough from Joye that you will find. It's the one with the battery box in the cord that most retailers sell.

If you don't like that one then there is at least one other that I know of and that would be the Prodigy Passthrough available at Puresmoker. I don't own it but you can check out the Puresmoker website/forum for more info.

I haven't seen a plug into the wall pass through, but I've heard of people using the Kensington USB thing. There's a thread here that might help:

You can also buy a 110v to USB converter. I have two. One of them has one USB port, the other has 4. Just plug it into an outlet and there you go!

Errrr. never mind. Kent's link for the USB PT questions pretty much takes care of that. :)

Kev,

Yeah, the way some links show, after the 'parser' gives wrong impressions. Those links are the ones I found attempting to find good 1amp or dual 2amp (total) plugs. I have the top two and also got the unilever one with the odd wall to car plug conversion ;-) It works and if you just have those two things you'd be all set for wall and car, but I just keep the Belkin in the car all the time.

After Jim D's suggestion, I yanked the 510 and JS PTs out of the computer and have them on the SE wall plug. Better on the 510 it seems. The JS is still the same - 'internal batt'. And more importantly I was able to reroute the cables to where they are intertwining ;-)

I think the best passthrough for a 510 is.... the Janty Stick! :D

Seriously though, the ones at PureSmoker seem to be pretty heavy duty, and would probably last a lot longer than the regular flimsy types.

Just my $.02

It's like anything else really. You have people that have burnt out 4 attys on the first day and people with the same ones for 6 months. Same with PTs. I've had three going for 3 months without a problem. Some have burnt out 2 or 3 in that period. Some are DOA. When you can get the 510 PT for as little as $11 (healthcabin?) and then one for $37, it might be worth seeing if you'll be one of the unlucky on the $11 one.

Personally, I'd buy the $37 one, just so I have some peace of mind knowing it'll last longer than a cheaper one.

Actually, I take that back. I'd just get the 510 adapter for my Stick, and use the built-in passthrough. But that's just me. :D

then again how do you know that your not getting the $11 one for the $37 dollar price tag. Ill give one of them a shot with a wall adapter and let everyone know how it works. I refuse to plug one into my usb ports tho.

The $37 one is visually a different cable. That seemed to be the most common comment - cable too thin?? I thought it was too short ;-)
