How about this: If there were no positive effects of smoking, then nobody would ever smoke! :w00t:

    Cannot apply for job

I am attempting to apply for a job through ECF, but I keep getting an error message saying "this file type is not permitted for security reasons." I've changed my resume and cover letter to doc files, which it says are supported, but I'm still getting the message and I can't apply. It's for...

    Dekalb (IL) considering vaping ban

There is another thread on a county in NY planning to vote on an e-cig usage ban in public places. They're holding a public hearing beforehand. I think that is the way to go, if you're going to vote on legislation that will affect the liberties of the public, they should have a say before...

Tompkins County (NY) considering vaping ban, public hearing September 2

I do hope we have some forum members who live nearby and can go to that public hearing. If I lived close enough I'd be there. Do the local vape shops know about the hearing? They can put up notices and inform their customers to attend.

    Overland Park, KS bans e-cigarettes

That's interesting. It speaks to larger forces at work than just the local legislators, don't you think? Hmmm...

I have never seen that show... but I have been watching plenty of Game of Thrones lately and there's tons of examples in that show! Almost every character is a good/evil mix to the point where you can't predict what someone's going to do just because it's right or wrong :D Yet, despite how...

Ha ha exactly! In sharp contrast, if you ever partake in Japanese anime, even the shows that were made for children frequently show bad guys becoming good guys and vice versa (an excellent example is Vegeta from DBZ, who starts off as a bad guy but turns into a good guy with a bad...

FDA Extremely well done (and not yet available) FDA comment

I think this is because people in our society have an innate desire for simple answers, as well as belief in a dichotomy between "good" and "bad". In our culture we have been trained to believe there is a clear separation between black and white (this is not true for many other cultures). So...

They also eat tons of seafood :) a lot of stuff most of us don't eat, like octopus and squid :D mmmm yummy! With such a varied diet it's hard to tell where the protective factors come from. I say it's probably a combination of many parts of their diet.

Modder arrested for possessing "explosives" and "silencer"

Quote from article: "After nearby homes were evacuated, the material was safely detonated early Thursday morning. At midday, a commercial HAZMAT crew was still removing buckets and barrels through the garage." As much as this guy loves his drippers, it looks to me like there was definitely...

To add to this, researchers have been puzzled for a long time over why the cancer rate is so low in Japan when the smoking rate is so high there :) most suggest there are protective factors in their diet.

Vapers with lung problems, I need your advice

I get the same feeling with VG, even on 50/50 it feels really thick and heavy in my lungs. I do best with 70 or 80% PG. But I never had lung problems beyond a chronic cough from smoking, so I don't know that it would translate to him well. A lot of people on this forum are really into 100%...

Vapers with lung problems, I need your advice

My brother will never be able to quit cold turkey - he has tried that many times and failed, he can't even cut back for long. If his best hope for quitting is to go cold turkey, he will never quit. That is unacceptable. He has tried other quitting methods and those also did not work. So at...

FDA 23 self proclaimed health/medical groups sign CTFK letter urging FDA to make Deeming Regulation even worse

My mother and I were just discussing today how for just about everything in our country, it has to be proven dangerous to be banned, yet for e-cigs they want to ban it preemptively on the assumption that it's dangerous with no proof. That is rather unique. What's the expression? Ah yes...
