It really looks to me like nothing more than a PR move. Of course they want to sell their product as much as possible, but they want to look "responsible" while doing it. It's kind of like paypal's vendetta against e-cig distributors - as long as they don't know, they don't care, and they're...
We're in the home stretch! There's less than 24 hours left to submit your comments so MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!!
In case anyone needs more cannon fodder for the FDA, check out this website:
The counterfactual
I just stumbled across "the counterfactual" for the first time, and it's insane! It's...
They sent out an email today saying they have 39,000 comments so far :D here is an excerpt from the email:
We sent the Printer the first 39,000 submissions last night at 3:00am EST. They are letting us send them any additional we receive, up to 7:00AM EST tomorrow August 8th. They just called...
I would like to add that if you have access to full texts of studies that most people don't have access to, like through a university, you can dig up some studies on e-cigs, download the pdf and submit it to the FDA as an attachment :) you have to add some text in the comment window, but you can...
Does anyone know exactly what time the comment window closes? I swear I am not putting it off! It's just that I have about 20 scientific studies to read through before I send them off, plus more that I may want to look up, and I'd like to know how much time I have. :)
Still waiting for my package and the mailperson is running late today...
Please submit your comments so we can all look forward to our packages for many years to come!!!
Edit: Mailperson finally got here half an hour late, with no package  perhaps afternoon delivery...
Even if Dow never supplied the e-cig industry, this is a huge, well-respected company making a strong statement. Unfortunately that means other companies may follow suit. :(
I just wrote this on the fly and submitted it to the FDA :) I'm quite proud of this little comment:
The current deeming regulations do not appropriately take into account the potential for harm reduction products to substantially reduce disease and death caused by smoking. These regulations...
Most pick individual consumer. If you work in health care you can list yourself as a health professional, or if you work in the industry you can put that in. Whatever suits your situation best :)
Don't worry, I'll grab that torch from you :D I'm forcing myself to stay up cuz my juice arrives in the mail in approximately 4 hours so...
comment Comment COMMENT!!! :w00t:
I don't know about FTV personally, so I can't answer those questions. However, as far as the FDA rejecting comments because there are "mistakes," that's not the case. I could see them reject a comment due to swear words or very threatening language (it's easy to avoid those things though...)...
That was very touching, and I mean that with the utmost sincerity. I do hope you submitted a comment with all of that :)
It is so important to remind the FDA that by supporting harm reduction methods, they are saving lives.
Healthcare professional? So not a doctor then? I have yet to run across a doctor who knows I vape and puts me down as a smoker. Doctors generally know better than that. I have a feeling this individual genuinely doesn't know anything about vaping, otherwise there would be no argument. Maybe...
^this!:toast: Absolutely!
The easiest way to control people is to take power and convince them that there is nothing they can do about it - don't ever believe that! There is always something you can do!
No matter how much DIY people can do, how much information is available, and how many products are accessible on the black market, we need to keep in mind that the simple illegality of the products would be enough to turn people away, especially new vapers. No one wants to worry about getting...
