Here's my story: but I think I could've done better. My Dad also quit smoking 15 yrs ago only to start up again in 2010. He died 1 year later in Nov 2011.
The same week we learned of the arrival of our now 2 yr old daughter. I should have included that in my story as the contributing factor.

Hello,

My name is Ethan Hayward. I'm a 40 yr old almost 18 year ex smoker. I've learned recently that the FDA intends to ban all electronic cigarette sales and its products. I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder at age 8. I come from a long history of dysfunction and was placed in over 60 different foster homes as a child by no fault of my own.
I tried for several years in vein to quit smoking. Everything from prescription meds to therapy. Nothing worked until I found out about ecigs. I quit the day I purchased one, July 19th 2013. it just so happens that was my baby daughters 1 yr old birthday.
It was a moment in history for me, the moment I used the electronic device I never went back to smoking cigarettes. I thank whoever invented these, and my family of 5 will be able to have a Father who has gotten better in the last year. I've since been able to stay on my meds, get regular exercise and play with my family. I was mostly bed ridden for most of my life due to fibromyalgia and had an extremely limited capacity to get outside. Since I started the ecig I've been outside nearly every day.
I'm asking you to please weigh the decisions carefully. It could mean the difference between life and death for someone.

Thank you for your time.

Ethan Hayward

by the way, do I need to email my tracking # to CASAA?

I filed my comments as an individual consumer online today and got a tracking number. I did about 4K characters. I included a photo of the vaping gear I have (and may be outlawed) as an attachment. I think there is now less than one hour to file your comments.
According to the We are Casaa FB page its 11:59 August the 8th.. so not tonight at 11:59, but tomorrow. Just so people know they didn't miss it:D

Well, I'l be a money's uncle... you are right. The deadline is tomorrow, not today. That's 12 midnight EDT and 9:00 p.m. PDT for those of us on the left coast. It was on my calendar for today and just did it.

Just submitted a fifth comment with a bunch of study links (and my comments on each). I'm sure all of them have already been sent in by vapers on this thread and elsewhere, but by spoonfeeding them again and again, at the very least we are letting the powers that be know that *we* know that positive, substantive science is on our side.

We're in the home stretch! There's less than 24 hours left to submit your comments so MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!!

In case anyone needs more cannon fodder for the FDA, check out this website:
The counterfactual

I just stumbled across "the counterfactual" for the first time, and it's insane! It's filled with excellent arguments against overregulation of harm reduction, so if you need any ideas on where to start, that would be a great place to go!

I just spent all night screening scientific documents to ensure they met my criteria for FDA submission... I sent them about 15 papers  the sun has risen, and I'm going to bed now, satisfied that my work is partially done.

I have to say though, this work is really depressing. It's painful to see all of this evidence right in front of my eyes proving that these devices are safe, effective, have little to no impact on children or bystanders, etc., to know that this technology can potentially save millions of lives, and then turn around and see the FDA say "we just don't know much about these" and watch them proceed with a de facto ban. It's sickening...

I do so hope that these stories touch everyone that reads them the same way that they touch me.

They are truly from the heart. Thank you for opening yourselves up and letting us in.

I am loving them, all of them! I think this is an important exercise not only to voice our views to the FDA but to share them with ourselves. They reinforce our own commitment to never smoke again and to stand strong in the face of this current hurdle. Bottom line, I will NEVER smoke another cigarette no matter what I have to go through to get my juice I will NEVER back down!
