Interesting! Was this with the second batch of hard to take apart Stardusts? Obviously not something to do for simple cleaning!
Seems like a lot of work for those of us without brass tubing and pipe cutters but may solve the issue for changing the wick/coil on the troublesome Stardusts!
Wonder if they changed the design to make it harder to rewick! I got new ones from Gotvapes but haven't tried pulling them apart yet.... will try in a bit...
I've gotten an off taste when the coil gets extremely coated in charcoal/residue, which may happen quicker with dark juices. That just means you need to give it a good cleaning and dry burn.
It's definitely best if the coils are in the center so the coil consumes the juice wicked evenly from...
I have two boxes of new fluxos that are just sitting there since I got the Stardusts. I keep eyeing them and think, maybe I'll just take them apart for the wicks.... but that would make some expensive wicking material!
Coil is pretty easy to get. You can get the wire I had on my video (Gotvapes Stardust: Changing the Wick & Coil - YouTube) cheap from eBay--remember to burn it until it gets red and wash it to remove the machine oil! I haven't tried nichrome but trust those who prefer it. Someone says it gives...

Changing the wick/coil definitely isn't for everyone. I kind of like doing it as part of the hobby, though totally understand those who don't. But it made me take the plunge and sign up for the Zenesis Z-atty (rebuildable tank), mostly...
