Yep, I used fluval stuff the first three months. Then switched to pyramid tea bags--I've used most of my nylon for four months and still no problem.
But if I had stuck with polyester type filler...fluval is best--no added chemicals!
I'm not sure...but I remember trying to chase that question down once. Seems like I found a gallon of either pg or vg on Amazon.com from under fourty dollars???
But I'd make sure about it first.
For start up...I recommend the JOYE 510 (no box version) from CIGNOT.com

If you like coffee, get cappuccino from them.

Yep, the batteries run down in an hour or two. Check into the Protogie and Little...
I haven't tried the one you're talking about. I've got the 510 from CIGNOT.com

I switched from poly to pryamid tea bag (nylon) and haven't had the problem in four months.
Anyway...once you get that (never goes away) smell and taste--change your filler.
Cignot....them two cuties at Cignot.com
I've also heard nhaler is pretty much up there at the top of the list to.
If you get 510 kits, and you got the money--you 'might' consider a 'little chuck' or a protoge'
I don't clean mine much anymore. In the beginning I did and destroyed half a dozen in one night.
