    A SMPL Explosion.

Totally agree. I love my SMPL. I choose to understand the risks and exercise caution. I just said I'm amazed they exist.

    The end of microcoils?

Probably not, but most NETs sure can gunk a coil quickly, and I'm guessing they start out with more different organic compounds than most e-liquids. Just seems the potential exists for a lot of interesting high temperature organic chemistry to occur.

    A SMPL Explosion.

I've always been amazed that mods with hybrid top caps ever made it into the mainstream vaping marketplace. Kinda like if Ford decided to sell street legal top fuel dragsters on their lots.

    A SMPL Explosion.

I love my SMPL, but I am going to go take another good, hard look at how much the center post protrudes on ALL my drippers. So glad the OP is OK.

Uncrustable drip tips from Vapor Shark... anyone else interested???

I've been using one of the VS uncrustable drip tips on my daily carry for a couple of months now. I really like it. Quality machining, very smooth coating, very durable coating, quality o-ring. The thin wall helps keep it cool.

    The end of microcoils?

Is there an organic chemist in the group who could comment on the nature of the liquid breakdown products that form on a coil? I personally vape mainly NETs right now, and I suspect that I'm dealing with a pretty interesting primordial soup/cake on my coils when they gunk up. It would be nice if...

    The end of microcoils?

And in BTs world, that means vaping must go. Or at least be driven so far underground as to be financially irrelevant. This is a war, people.

Catfish Atty Mods the next Chapter

I was just coming over to make the same post. Thanks, now I don't have to bug Tom.;)

    The end of microcoils?

True, but the profit margin from selling cigarettes is pretty high. I don't think that would be true in an open, lightly-regulated, vaping-dominant world. At the very least, to protect their profits they need to push for a closed-system e-cig world where virtually everyone else is locked out by...

    The end of microcoils?

Totally agree. Its about the people who really care about the safety of vaping and who come to this thread looking for information. They're why I chose to stick this thing out. The bashing by a few overzealous believers has been the price paid. Worth it in the end, I think. Oh, and I've very...

    Titanium wires

Based on this single remark (and the rest of your reply as well) I can see that I won't be able to have a rational discussion with you about this subject. Thats a very dangerous attitude to have regarding science, especially the biological sciences and people's health. Anyway my purpose in...

    Titanium wires

I don't believe anyone in the thread has presented any convincing evidence concerning the safety of inhaling vaporized glycerol from any coil, dry burned or not. But I'm also pretty certain that no one has presented any evidence that dry burning a coil made vaping any more harmful than not dry...

    The end of microcoils?

Thanks. I'm flattered (and slightly inebriated:toast:). And a wee bit frustrated by the ridiculous situation vapers find themselves in - exercising their RIGHT to perform an act which is, by all the available evidence, less destructive than the most obvious LEGAL alternative, and finding...

    The end of microcoils?

Contact resistance. A problem which has plagued mankind for many decades. Clean metal-to-metal contacts are alway best (well, fusion welds are really preferred, but who wants to weld their coils to the posts?).

    The end of microcoils?

I think some of the critical questions are: who is going to conduct the study, what sort of vaping rig are they going to investigate, and from where are they going to receive their funding? It seems as though many of the people participating in this thread are concerned with "rebuildables" in...

    RDA VECTOR RDA™ by VLS

The o-rings are awesome on mine - just like they were on the Vulcan. A near-perfect fit. And the airflow holes on the top seem to seal very nicely. So far, this really does seem like it could be pocketable with a plug in the drip tip. Which is impressive, since the chamber gets PRETTY juicy, at...

    RDA VECTOR RDA™ by VLS

Received two Vectors yesterday (what can I say? I'm hoarding for the Vapocalypse). Built #1 today. Ripped out that goofy screen and threw on a 0.4 ohm dual Clapton/JOC build on my copper Smpl mod. This thing is pretty nice. Awesome machining quality. Great o-rings. Thick, luxurious vapor with...

    Titanium wires

I know it's a huge thread, but I suggest that you go read through the "The end of microcoils?" thread if you want an overview of the realities of the high temperature heating of common vaping coil materials. Several metallurgical experts have been involved throughout the discussion. You are...

    The end of microcoils?

The "colored" films form at less than one micron thickness. They indicate the VERY early stages of oxidation.

    The end of microcoils?

I should mention that if you want to do your own "oven oxidation" experiment, be sure to start with a clean oven. Nasty organics in the atmosphere will certainly confound your results.
