The German Phil Busardo (Dirk Oberhaus) has already ran the scope tests on the Evic VT Mini. From the little I can gather from his video, it appears it is more accurate than the original. Anyone care to translate his findings in regard to the accuracy of the TC?
The IPV Mini 2 was my all day device for about 6 months, so i am familiar with it. In short, the D2 is far superior in every way. It's smaller, has the same power, feels better in the hand, has temp control and it's easier to change the battery.
I am not so sure than dry burning any coil is a good idea. Even at low power settings, that coil gets really hot, really fast. Remember that stainless steel is made from pretty much the same materials we are using already. 316 "surgical" SS is comprised of:
Iron 65-70%
Chromium 16-18%
Nickel...
Yep and a lot of people still don't seem to get this.
Basically if you have a regulated device, all you need to know is the wattage you have it set at and the charge left in the battery. Atomizer resistance means absolutely zero. I really wish it was standard on regulated mods to show the...
MSDS's are useless for our purposes. According to MSDS's, everything will kill you, including H2O. MSDS sheets are the ultimate in fear mongering and are nothing but a way for corporations to avoid lawsuits. What they don't tell you is that the dose makes the poison.
The main concern with...
I have seen different values. One forum post claims 600F for the blue. A technical book on titanium claims 700F for yellow, 900F for blue and 1200F for dull grey.
Druckle, what's your opinion of Tantalum? It's TCR is identical to Ti's (.0038). It is inert in the human body and highly resistant to corrosion. I'm not sure, however, how high it's resistance is compared to other metals or how practical it would be for coils.
There's also a GalliumSource. According to comments on Amazon, his wire is certified Grade 1 and he can provide COA's upon request. GalliumSource only lists 24 guage Ti on the site, but I am pretty certain you can contact them directly to order other gauges. I have no personal experience with...
Some of the published science so far seems to agree with the notion that "broken in" coils are safer (e.g. emit fewer particles) than brand new coils. This paper specifically mentioned that used coils (I believe they said around 50 firing cycles) were cleaner than brand new coils (that is, new...
I think tank design has sort of hit a wall. All the tanks have used the Kayfun design (except with bigger juice channels and airflow) for a while now. All of the "sub-ohm" tanks coming out are all pretty good, but all the same design. No one is really innovating there as far as I see. Back...
I see it as a result of a few things:
1) High VG juices have a higher boiling point, which means you will need more power than with a high PG juice.
2) Some tanks will lose internal pressure if not tightened properly. This causes the chamber to flood, which results in more juice hitting the...
I've heard mixed reviews. Some people with nickel allergies are able to vape nickel with no issue, while others experience problems.
I must ask, what kind of "weird things" have been happening?
Doesn't work. I can hold it down or I can press it multiple times. My device will not wake up by using the + button no matter how long or how many times I press it.
DJSLB said in his video review that it appears to work. He showed dry burn tests, etc. However, Busardo said in his preview "Does the Kanthal dry burn protection work on the Asolo? Not really. But, I still have more tests to do." I am curious what he has to say about it in his final review.
Probably a bigger reason they chose it is because of its TCR. The mod doesn't have to be as accurate with ohm its reading (or as precise) as it would for, say, SS or even Ti. It's kind of like a digital scale. 1.1g on one scale isn't as precise as 1.13g on another. And that scale is nothing...
