Yeah, a vendor was on reddit the other day complaining that Sandvik (Kanthal) sent him a cease and desist letter for selling FeCrAl wire and labeling it as Kanthal. I do know some vendors (like TEMCo) sell genuine and authentic Kanthal wire and thus can use the name.- BigEgo

Burnt cotton wick
It's not burnt. It's the juice discoloring the cotton in the choke point of the coil (where the cotton enters the coil is a slight choke point where the discoloration occurs).- BigEgo

DNA 200 Watt
The mAh doesn't change but the voltage triples (3 cells = 11.1v nominal). This means that for a given wattage, a 3 cell Lipo will use 3 times less the amperage than a single 18650 battery. So it's essentially 3 times the battery life because it is working 3 times less as hard. So, it's fine... -

One question: On the bottom left of device monitor, there is a temperature setting for the last puff. Is this an average temp over the duration of the puff? I assume so because it always reads quite a bit lower than the max set temp. -

No one can say Kanthal is any safer than SS or Ti or nickel. Kanthal has Iron, chromium and aluminum in it. We do know that titanium itself is inert in the human body (unlike nickel or chromium), so there's that. I get your point about "needing testing," but let's not act like Kanthal is... -

As KenD said, it doesn't matter on TC controlled devices what your resistance is. When you go TC, you need to think in terms of coil surface area (the more coil, the more power you need) as well as heat capacity. You said you like 28 gauge, 3mm, 8 wrap kanthal at 2Ω. I just ran that build... -

OBS CRIUS base loose
I have the same problem. It's the ring directly above the afc. If you hold it up to a light, there is a gap about a hair wide on one side (but not the other). In other words, it's crooked. I wonder whether or not this has something to do with the small amount of leaking I see from time to time.
