TC beyond Ni200: Nickel Purity, Dicodes; Ti, SS, Resistherm NiFe30; Coefficient of Resistance

The TCR value of .00094 is correct for 317L. Grade 316 (and 316L) has a TCR of .00088. Grade 304 has a TCR of .001016. This is according to steam-engine who got the data from this old scientific paper from Purdue University which was published in 1977. So if you see different results, it...

Temperature control: looking for some advice.

Because most of them are old school and don't want anything restricting the temperature of their vape. They are used to sub-ohming and vaping at high wattages and high heat. I see no reason NOT to buy a TC capable mod. The Evic VTC Mini or the Joyetech Cuboid are the way to go for a...

    200 Watt Mods Battery Safety

I was referencing something you said on reddit in regard to pulse ratings (i.e. there is no standard for pulse ratings).

    Stainless Steel capable mods

I agree. If a mod doesn't have adjustable TCR and upgradable firmware, it is going to get an "instant thumbs down" from me (to quote PBusardo).

TC beyond Ni200: Nickel Purity, Dicodes; Ti, SS, Resistherm NiFe30; Coefficient of Resistance

I don't know if it's flammable. Tungsten is what was used in incandescent light-bulbs forever -- that little filament that glows is made of tungsten. It has the highest melting point of all pure metals. The problem with it is it has a super low resistivity, even lower than nickel irrc. This...

Where does one get the atomizer "cap" that seals the "cup?" Mine didn't come with one.

    200 Watt Mods Battery Safety

It was me quoting Mooch about battery pulse ratings. Mooch has said there's no industry standard for what a "pulse" is -- some manufacturers may consider 30 seconds a "pulse" while others might be a minute, while still others might just be a few seconds. This is why he is now considering doing...

    200 Watt Mods Battery Safety

I got quoted, so I'll chime in and just basically repeat what I said in that quote. 2 18650's cannot truly handle 200w safely, so either the manufacturers are lying about offering 200w or they are going to be putting their users at risk. As I said, 2 real 30A cdr batteries could perhaps...

safety concerns of sintered ceramic wicks/coils

So that confirms that it's a tungsten wire inside the ceramic. The question then becomes what is the "ceramic" made of? There's tons of different materials that are called "ceramic." I think that redditor has it right -- it's probably silicon-nitride.

    DNA 200 Watt

316/317 are a PITA, especially if using dual-coils which makes them half as accurate. If you want to use SS, then 430 is the way to go. I find it highly accurate on my DNA-200 using the steam-engine curve. I tested it with a thermocouple and it never deviated more than 2 or 3 degrees.

    DNA 200 Watt

You sure your coil has no hot spots? Have you tried other attys? If it works with other attys, then it must be something funky with the Serpent.

    HCigar VT200

Yeah most VT200 owners on the Evolv forums are reporting around 11.1 wh. Some are down in the 10's, some are closer to 12.

    HCigar VT200

Have you ran the battery analyzer? I did and mine came out to 11.1wh and the battery meter seems to be almost dead on accurate.

Yeah but the bellus is not the Cubis. We're talking about the Cubis pre-built coils.

    Cloudmaker Whiteout

They are on Reddit all the time posting about the Cloudmaker. And they do videos. They look all of 19 years old to me. I wouldn't trust any company ran out of a mom's basement.

    Cloudmaker Whiteout

Isn't Cloudmaker done by a couple of reddit kids? Pretty sure the guys behind it are like 18-20 years old.

    Joyetech Cubis

I can verify it with the DNA-200. Both the steam-engine csv file and a manual TCR of .00092 simply produces no vapor. This implies that the wire is not 316 as advertised. I have some genuine 317L wire here (almost the same TCR as 316) and it works fine with the steam-engine file. I had to...

New Koopor 200w TC setup, thoughts?

Titanium. It can be temp controlled, has a clean taste and is more hassle free than nickel.

    Titanium wire, vaping and safety

Yep that's what I use. Just got done building one in fact. 6 wraps, 2.5mm, 24ga comes out to .183Ω.

New Koopor 200w TC setup, thoughts?

Glad you like it. Now you should experiment with titanium and stainless steel wires.
