I'm actually very surprised that center pin broke like that and must be the 1 in a million exception... I have dropped my precious #773 on concrete at least 5 times and it always seems to land on the base cap first... I also run my setup without a spring as they annoy me terribly... but only... -

I have 2 different styles of Nichrome that pretty much sit since I found Kanthal A1 and I have 32g, 34g, & 36g... I typically use the thinner 36g for HV coils between 2.5 & 3ohms... and use the 32g for dual coil set ups 0.9ohm @ 3.7v... and as of today I just got the 34g and will be playing with... -

Well the Nextel melts between 2200 & 2600 degrees Fahrenheit.... so anything less than that should be ok.... and this is where me & Ricks taste buds seem to differ... for me the Nextel is chock full of juicy flavor goodness and I dont have near as good results with stock wick... but thats just... -

wouldnt hurt to try say a small sample piece 6" or so first and that way if it doesnt no big deal... but at the same time you might find the next best way to heat treat Nextel... I really cant comment much on my method using PG juices the principle would be the same but with thinner juices it... -

you are correct I am 100% VG guy but thats mostly because me and PG dont agree with each other but I do find VG produces a much thicker vape than PG did IMO anyway.... and I also DIY and one of my new favorite flavors is NY Cheesecake from Capella... -

Please Keep in mind when using my method that the wick needs to act almost like a Dam as not to allow juice to seep through the channels but only to saturate the wick itself... I cant think of any better example than a Tampon but it illustrates the principle perfectly... in other words if you... -

the plastic insulator between the bottom cap and firing pin of the bottom cap must be damaged allowing the metals to touch would be my first instinct anyway based on what you've told us... good news is I believe Bruce @ COV still has some in stock as I just picked some up because I always like... -

a friend of mine does the kiln burn for me when I get a chance to talk to him I'll see what temp he does it at and for how long... If I remember correctly he burns it for an hour but I cannot remember what temp... -

Good News Im glad your having good luck with it.... I typically open my juice control one half turn and never need mess with it again till its time to refill.... lately I have been using the 0.9ohm dual coil @ 3.7v and its pretty friggen awesome... -

Nextel XC-116 can be purchased from Omega.com but please note that it must be torch or Kiln treated before use to burn off the sizing... Kiln treated is the best but a torch or stove burner will work.... -

I have yet to modify the ODY ceramic because when I first got my ODY I started using my coil method so that I wouldnt risk breaking the only ceramic I had back when ODY first arrived... this method has worked great for me since so other than playing with dual and single coils with different gage... -

The UFS is a different animal all together.... I have never used an ODY in the UFS with or without my coil method so I can offer no answer to that set up in regards to my coil method... maybe Imeo will give it a try and tell us if it works or not... -

essentially your not doing anything different but using less wick... the channels themselves feed juice to the ends of your short wick just as it does with long wick... it also acts like a Dam to impede flow through the gaps of the ODY ceramic and ceramic housing... I have actually vaped a tank... -

I did not have any problem with leaking in full mode but I also only used it in full mode for about a day but had no issues... Full mode was just too big for my tastes and I am very bored with the flavor in 5ml or less... I do however use this coil method in Medium Mode without any issue... I do...
