Going to start my first mod this week. Design rough draft.

I still have 4 dna20 boards to use up. Going to try another design. 2 boards per design. I have 2 5600mah lipos (bapgood suggested) to use, so my next case design will incorporate those batteries.

The recess and the well portion are a solid 1 piece design. The 510 connector has a lip going around the top. I press fit the connector from the top and secure with resin on the bottom.

Battery Mod Material. What kind of Plastic?

There are videos of main stream delrin mods like the cube getting run over by a hummer. I have a delrin box mod I made that is 1.2x2.5" with 1/8" wall thickness that withstood my tundra with no electronics inside. Delrin with the right thickness and dimensions can withstand a fair amount of...

Going to start my first mod this week. Design rough draft.

You can see the ledge on the inside. Depending on material used eg. alloy, abs plastic, etc. For abs I would use acetone on the inside seams and the plastic fuses together. For aluminum I 40 grit sand all the interior seams. Use a thin layer of cotton gauze tacked with protype putty and then...

No need to epoxy when sanding or polishing. The inside of the caps have a small tapered edge that allows me to press fit the caps to the main body for finishing.

Shapeway has the nicest prints ive seen. I believe they have a nice tumbler finishing process. Not sure. I rarely use them though, mainly due to delivery speed. It only cost me 10 bucks to get my protype printed same day in a choice 12 colors and I didnt have to pay for shipping although he...

Going to start my first mod this week. Design rough draft.

1.9" x 1" x 3.1" I settled on a wall thickness of 1/18". Durable without being overly thick The guy who did the printing also does acetone fume finishing. The examples he let me play with looked like they were injection molded. I was surprised to see he did everything on a makerbot 1 dual...
