That looks way better than our printer does on the holes and cut outs!!!

What are your outside dims?

1.9" x 1" x 3.1"

I settled on a wall thickness of 1/18". Durable without being overly thick

The guy who did the printing also does acetone fume finishing. The examples he let me play with looked like they were injection molded. I was surprised to see he did everything on a makerbot 1 dual head. Impressive.

Yeah I have read a little on the acetone fume finishing and it is impressive.

Our printer is suposed to very similar to the maker bot dual I believe (cubex dual) but with larger capacity print area. But one problem is they won't send us ABS and the big one is how locked down the print settings are and how dumb the locked defaults can be.

I have about got them talked into some other hardware and software to give better control.

But for personal projects its really hard to beat shapeways SLS printing. Both price and accuracy, but the wait sucks.

Shapeway has the nicest prints ive seen. I believe they have a nice tumbler finishing process. Not sure. I rarely use them though, mainly due to delivery speed.

It only cost me 10 bucks to get my protype printed same day in a choice 12 colors and I didnt have to pay for shipping although he does ship also. Its nice having tons of options in my vicinity.
I have 2 casings being fabricated as we speak based off of the design used to do the 3d print. Both will be aircraft aluminum for the first run and stainless for the second run if im happy with them. Perhaps a 510 dna20 screw on adapter for 22mm tube mods. I'll call it the "Bapgood"

Hopefully I will have them in hand Friday afternoon.
