Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

Here's an update: I played around with fixes for the negative contact, and this is my idea: A lot of you already use the spare screw in the extra screw hole to avoid having to trim battery wrappings (good idea). I used that screw to screw down the coil spring that I originally planned on...

Anyone know when we can expect to hear something from the FDA lawsuits?

So with all these lawsuits filed against the FDA in federal courts, when can we expect to hear anything? Based on what happened back in 2011, it was about 8 month. So does that mean early next year is when we might hear what judges think?

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

Well it 8/9. I made a few of my new mod and posted some pics somewhere yesterday and sent it off to a few people I know to sample. That takes care of the FDA deadline, one of the reason why I've been so hectic for the past couple of weeks, along with the moving. Honestly, I'm going to be...

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

Sorry I've been away for awhile. This last month has been hectic. My lease ended in July 15th and I can't move in to my new apartment until Aug 12 so I've been just living at random places and things are disorganized. Got a lot of things in my SUV. I thought someone sent me some PEEK...

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

When it comes to air flow, do you think there is a wide range of preferences or is it more polarized? For example, you might have a lot of people who prefer a very airy draw (all three holes) , and you might have some people who prefer a tight draw (one hole or less), but very few in between. Or...

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

I spent the past week on the new mod. This is something that I've been designing in parallel for quite some time, but the FDA deadline really forced me to get it made without further delay. But I'm happy it's being made and I will have it before 8/8. Someone sent me some PEEK insulators they've...

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

In the meantime, I have question about atty AFC. For this new atty I'm making, how large of a hole do you want the air hole to be at max opening? Assuming one hole per coil (and there is two). Just let me know the hole size. It can always be made smaller but I do need to know how large to make...

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

Someone mentioned they have been using a PEEK insulator and have not had any problems with the insulator since. Once I try it, I will send a few to everyone. I will also provide a fix for the negative contact issue and send it together. That should fix the two issues.

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

I understand there are PEEK insulators out there like this. But I'm not sure if it'll fit. Have to try it and if not, will have to make my own. Some of you seem to have found off the shelf PEEK insulators that fits, if so, let me know so I can provide everyone with some.

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

There were a few people with issues, but they are the minority. Most I sent out didn't PM me anything. But that's still not good enough for me. I did not anticipate issues with the 510 insulator, and the battery negative contact. I was shocked when ppl started blowing fuses and we couldn't...

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

I'll be honest. I'm rushing to get another mod made before the FDA deadline in August, so I haven't really looked into the Mymod "fixes" yet. I'm at the stage where I'm finishing up the design of parts (for the new mod), so the suppliers can start making it. Once I get the parts ordered, then I...

I haven't hoarded nic juice yet, where to buy?

Right now, I'm just praying lawsuits and congressional actions amends the FDA deeming rules. I won't even consider the ramifications of the deeming rules until the dusts settles.

I haven't hoarded nic juice yet, where to buy?

I saw some glass cans used for canning in my supermarket. They are pretty cheap, and comes with a metal lid that can seal. Can I store the nic juice in those and put it in my freezer?

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

Finished moving yesterday. I will provide a feedback in a day or two regarding the PEEK insulators.

I haven't hoarded nic juice yet, where to buy?

I guess the 1L I bought 2 years ago were 48mg concentration, and it lasted me 2 years. So doing the math, 4L of 100mg should last me 16 years. Nic wise I think I'm good. But there is no reason to hoard VG right? That should always be available...I hope.

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

I'm going to look into the PEEK 510 insulator this weekend. If I can find an off the shelf component that'll work, I can send it out soon. If not, I'll have some machined. I definitely don't want people to destroy the insulator easily.

While we are talking about insulators. What insulator material do you prefer in atties? PEEK? Silicone? or doesn't matter? both are heat resistant.

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

I haven't tried it, but my thought on the battery contact is this: You know that extra screw that people place in the extra threaded hole in the negative plate? Well, that screw is sitting loose. I'm thinking of placing a nut or a few suitable washers to fill up the space so that the screw can...

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

So the thing with the mod is this: Overall the general consensus is that it was a good mod for the price but needs a bit of improvement, specifically the negative contact and the 510. I have an easy fix for the negative contact that I've yet to try. Kinda swamped this week. Will let you guys...

Introducing... my bottom feeding mod (MyMod)

That's fine. Some people don't like fuses and some demands them. Everyone see things differently and have different preferences and tastes. It's impossible to design anything that makes everyone happy. That's why no one should take it personally when discussing the pros/cons of mods.
