I miss my 75 gallon reef tank. Took too much to takr care of after having three kids. Also had a 29 gallon anemone tank with two clowns. Had a 400 watt metal halide over it lol. The anemone got huge. The light displaced about a gallon of water a day lol.

Ceramic is very very resistant to heat, cotton is not. Anything burnt would be gunk on the coils burning off. I dry burn my bvc and once done, they work great again. Never had a chemical taste, just burnt gunk taste. Think of all the things that are made of ceramic that are made to get hot...
