    Best juice VG/PG ratio:

I've always had great luck using 50/50 in my genesisss (genesi?). I typically use #400 mesh.

    Why ceramics in a genesis?

I've also always just used SS Mesh in my gennies, but I would suppose some of the reasons for trying ceramic would be that it's non-conductive electrically, can be dry burned and cleaned pretty easily (as I understand it), and (as mentioned above) doesn't conduct heat the way SS does. I have...

    General Genesis Blather

I'll second the vote for IBTanked. Used to get cartotanks from them fairly frequently before I switched to using gennies. I know that even if they don't have a specific replacement piece of glass listed they used to allow you to order custom stuff by taking a few measurements with a caliper...

This one might need some practise!

    I believe that's a Nahualon(sp?).

    Cotton/Silica in a Genny Atty?

Some will say that it's sacrilege to put anything other than a mesh wick in a genny, however I've seen numerous people use cotton or ceramic wicks and they seem to be happy with the performance.

    First Genny

Good to know! I've yet to try a ceramic wick as I've been using up the mesh that I have on hand and have been very happy with it. It looks to be pretty flexible stuff? Curious if you could get the same life span out of a wick that you can with mesh. (I've had wicks last through several...

    First Genny

Welcome to the party! I too started my genny habit with an RSST, and still go back to it from time to time. Currently use a DID as my daily at work. Have it with a 28awg 1 ohm coil putting me somewhere in the 15 - 18 watt range when using it on a mech (usually is on my Nanos). I rarely go...

    Make up my mind!

The HCigar Sat22 is pretty nice, I've been happy with mine for the price. As many others have said, a good cheap starter is the pyrex RSST. First genny I used and I still keep it around drilled out when I feel like a bigger cloud. Daily I end up using my DID the most. Both the DID and RSST...

    Help please.

Never looked in to the Nectar. Once I found a handful of gennies that I liked I kind of got over my G.A.S. (Gear Acquistion Syndrome), I currently have a Sat22, DID, RSST, and a Pulse that all see moderate use. Though like I said, I most often find myself using the DID. With the RSST, I ended...

    Help please.

The Sat22 has one of the tightest draws of any genesis I've tried, it's been a while since I've tried a Kayfun of any sort but I believe it may be tighter than those as well. Here's my three answers: 1) I've always used 400 or 500 mesh in my gennies, never really had a problem with wicking...

New authentic brass Kraken arrived with cracked glass

My apologies, yes, their glass is not the brand name Pyrex.

New authentic brass Kraken arrived with cracked glass

You could always pick them up through IBTanked, it appears they have them in stock and they offer several options. It's pyrex instead of quartz glass, but I can't imagine that the difference will really make a noticeable difference. They custom make all of their glass, and I still have several...

    Origen Genesis v2 Clone

For 50/50 juice, I have good luck with either 400 or 500 rolled in to a pretty loose straw in most of my gennys.

what is the best genesis out there to get back into tanks?

Noticed you said that you'd already tried the RSST, which is usually my cheap go-to recommendation for people wanting to try a genny. My current favorite is the DID from MMVapors. Single coil, easy to build, nice large wick hole, and is always available as an authentic directly from the company.

    My next genny

I love my DID, it's pretty much my go-to at this point for general use and being out and about. When you order it, you can order glass tanks from MMV in their parts section otherwise you can get them in the states from ibtanked as was mentioned above.

At a local vape store today...

I understand what you're saying here, but if the shop has high prices, poor customer service, and doesn't have (or gives incorrect) information about their products then the only reason remaining to shop there is that they are "local". I'm willing to bet that many of these places, even if they...

At a local vape store today...

It's really too bad, because these people are giving the first (and maybe only) impression of ecigarettes to your average person. Most of the shops that I've been to around here leave me with a distinctly "head shop" vibe, which is probably not the environment most people who are interested in...

    Friggin gennys...

Ah ok, didn't realize that the Perseus had the + connection at the bottom. I've had runs of coils in the past where I've had this problem, and it's almost always been due to the coil shorting to the wick. Usually for me this was because that particular wrap was too tight on the mesh. Once or...

    Friggin gennys...

A few questions to try and help narrow things down: By "first wrap above the deck", do you mean the wrap furthest from the positive connection? If you fire the coil without a wick does it still pop? Are you oxidizing the wick at all either by torching or pulsing on a mech? What type of device...

    TNS

That sounds more or less like what I did, a very long strip of 400 rolled up in to a straw with a pretty small hole in the center. Wicks great, but haven't tempted the fates by laying it down yet.
