Looking at the picture, it would actually seem that the coil is too loose around the wick. The first couple of loops on the left of the picture don't seem to come in contact with the wick. That's an easy way to get hotspots.
the powerpro is a custom tube that requires you to disassemble your provari and then insert the board and the topcap, then lets you use a 26650 battery. there's a video of how to do it and it just had me screaming "whyyyyyyyyy, whyyyyy would you do this!" at my computer screen.
In order of price from lowest to highest (note some may require an ego thread adapter to use with your iclear.) :
Vamo v2
Innokin SVD
Tesla
Provari
Try searching for these and you may find yet more devices that fit the bill.
Based on the math it should only take a little over 2.5 hours. If the battery is still working for you, you have two choices:
1- do nothing
2- buy a new ego charger, they are very cheap.
I would also recommend the vamo, I used an ego v v2 for a while and due to its shoddy build quality it stopped working altogether. I disassembled it and saw that the positive lead from the battery had melted itself into two pieces. In short, not a device I would recommend to anyone.
So I got my Smoktech Octopus (RDA) today, my first ever rebuildable atty and almost immediately decided that the draw was waaaaayyy to tight. To make things worse the coil that came with it was full of hotspots and would taste awful even at like 3 volts. So i made my own coil and the burning...
I haven t done this while vaping but definitely while dry burning a coil, at first I thought i popped the coil before i realized it was just on the menu, lol.
Were there actual flames, or did the coil just glow red hot? Both are possible as ejuice can be set on fire with enough heat, but if it's just the coil glowing red you most likely don't have enough juice on it. Try loading it up until its just shy of leaking.
I have had the exact opposite experience wit these cartos, they taste pretty awful. I can't push them past 3.8 volts without getting a horrible burning taste, I'm not using thick juices either, 70/30 pg/vg respectively. The vapor is decent at low volts, but the flavor and throat hit are severely...
