An O-ring, as puffon suggested, might make the contact more secure.
What might also work (but I get the feeling might be a little beyond your abilities/materials at hand) is a blob of carefully applied solder under the pin to secure it and to make better contact.
Indeed - I can only think that a lot of people presume that Low Resistance Coils = Big Clouds because of misinformation that has it's roots in the early mech device era where the only way to pull large amounts of power was to build coils of low resistance.
Obviously, with regulated mods with...
'Short Atomiser' seems to suggest a shorted connection - in other words, a direct connection &/or one with a far too low resistance.
'Check atomiser' is the usual error message when it can detect *no* resistance.
Have you tried putting the old atomiser back in there and see if it's reading the...
It's self-descriptive - 'wispy' implies 'not all there', 'weak' - like you get with a dripper when it's about to run out of juice, but not so far as to be firing a coil on a bone-dry wick.
You know - as opposed to *burning*.
What's 'controversial', BTW?
You seem to be under the impression that 'Low Ohm Coils = Big Clouds', but this is only somewhat true in the case of unregulated mech devices.
With regulated mods, you don't build lower resistance coils to get 'MOAR VAPE', you use the adjustments that the mod provides to power the coil...
Congratulations on your succesful vaping journey!
Myself, I started vaping around 4 years ago when my (then-new) girlfriend bought me a cigalike which she had a Groupon voucher for, at around £20 - that kind of worked for me, and I cut down to about 2-3 smokes a day (from around 15-20...
If you can already build coils and can re-make the old Kanger Protank-style atomisers, then you *definitely* have the skillset required to use an RTA - you should look at getting a Kayfun-type tank, as djsvapour suggested, or maybe also try a dripper (RDA).
Myself, my favourite tank has to be...
OMG - that price is actual extortion!
I dread to imagine the prices they're charging for actual kit & juice.
They have competitors in town as well, you say? o_0
I would take it up with the seller - fire them an email to let them know that it's failed authentication and see what they say.
It's also quite possible that your device *is* authentic, and that the authentication procedure went FUBAR as r77r7r mentioned above - I've seen this happen more than...
Something like an Aspire Nautilus or a Kabuki would suit your requirements - you'd be looking at a wattage of around 8-12W on coils of that kind of resistance.
Why not think about getting an RTA and learning how to roll your own coils & wick? It's really not hard at all, and will save you a lot of $$$ over the cost of pre-made atomiser heads. You can also tailor the vape to exactly how you like it.
All you need to start is a spool or two of resistance...
If you're in most countries, choose the 'ePacket' shipping option at Fasttech - my last order cost USD$0.90 extra for it, and was only 4 days in transit to my door in the UK. :)
You've got decent batteries and a decent-enough charger, then. :D
Good luck building your Kayfun V5 - they're quite forgiving, I understand - a good RTA to start with.
Verdict - if you're a vaper who likes the classic MTL, flavour-chasing experience and also wants the option of tailoring their vape to just how they like it, and also to save a lot of money, then getting some form of Kayfun is an absolute must.
You can get decent clones of all kinds of Kayfuns...
