hello all,
i know i am tardy to the party but i will start building this tomorrow, at least moding the box. i Have been studying this build for a while and need just one thing clarified, with the latest build update 9/23/2014 on page 34, does the switch need to be rated, if so will a n-mosfet...
thanks for the ohm range
just checked the voltage and i get exactly .05 from both battery caps to the atty when firing.
but still theca if cranking down the battery cap does not seem good for the device. any ideas on that?
and the weird reading when the cap is tight but not getting a good...
@dwcraig1 and @Quantum Mech
sorry for the delay. I do have it "working" thank you to everyone for the help. I say "working" because i really have to torque down the battery caps. On the 510 side just a bit of pressure, but on the screen side i probably have to go an additional 45-90 degrees...
i do have a volt meter.
That worked @dwcraig1 , you are genius! ahhh i don't get it why did it work?
Here are more photos of it working with the wire, my batteries, the battery cap, and battery cap threads
Here are some more up close photos. to try and help everyone and then you all to help me :-)
both black wires out of the fire button terminate to the top of that blue board in the back

I don't think this picture will be...
Ok so I cleaned out the battery cap area pretty well. But how clean do they need to be. I would say it is much more metal than anodizing/powdercoating. What of it is too loos in the battery cap. Is there something I could rap the battery cap in to make sure it is making a good connection? Just...
actually there it is i think in the last picture there is some insulation off the wire under my screen. do you see that. could that somehow be causing all this?
i mean i get that exposed wire is no good but could that be the cause of all of this?
thanks @dwcraig1 that helped a lot. super easy to do, with a little guidance
ok so here is the sled fully removed. things look ok is me the positve pins do look a little angled. does anyone see anything i don't here that i should be looking at?
@Quantum Mech, by battery sled do you mean the tube and the top positive connection?
@dwcraig1 have you pulled out the whole sled? anything i should know before trying to pull it out and start looking at the positive connections?
@dwcraig1 sanding didn't seem to do anything. I think the ground in the top plate comes from the screws. the crew touches non coated metal, does a mod like this require much more ground than this? sorry still a newb to actually working on my mod
@TheBloke
So I am ArtVandelay from the FT thread. I was watching a lot of seifeild that night and could not come up with something clever :-). Alexander just so happens to be my first initial and last name, again wasn't felling clever. I think you are right that i drew the short straw here...
Hello all thank you for the help thus far.
a few quick clarifications to hopefully better explain the situation.
When i first got the device i realized there were a few problems with the battery cap threads. i cleaned those up as best possible yesterday. the battery connection problem has...
hey guys and gals,
so my SXK flask is straight up sucking. each time i think i fixed the problem and i do not. there is something strange going on with my Black 60W unit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. i will be submitting this as ticket to FT as well but i have read on the FT...
