Tbh I think ss tc is just a bit hit and miss full stop. People First used nickel because it's resistance shoots up so much when you apply heat. This made it really accurate for tc. Kanthal resistance barely moves when you apply heat this is what makes it such a great wire for power mode. Ss has...
I've been exclusively using ss tc for about 6 months now but I really wanted to give this pre-heat thingy a go. To my mind this might prove really useful for big coils that take a lot of power to get them up to temp. I bought some pre made alien wire and did a dual coil build in my Griffin 25...
You say your device is damn near spot on to your ohm reader. So is mine, it reads 0.01 ohm less. In ss tc that 0.01 difference equates to over 150f. For ss tc a device needs to be 100% spot on. Not damn near. My other devices are 100% spot on.
Obviously I can't comment on your device. Everything I stated is true for mine and most others on this thread. You even say yourself some of the issues would put you off this mod, that's why some people are upset about the device, because they do have these issues! If you don't all I can say is...
"What issues?"
Garbled screen
Misfires
Reads resistance too low
Less accurate tcr as we're only given 4 decimal places to use.
Taking the word of one YouTube reviewer would be stupid. Listening to about 20 reviewers written and YouTube isn't .
Don't need a dna, I have several tc mods that...
When I bought my 213 I watched and read every availible review first. Not one review mentioned any of its issues. How would you suggest that I could have " looked into said device further"?
To any potential buyers, these are it's issues. Decide for yourselves if you can live with them.
If you press up and fire at exactly the same time from a blank screen you will get a garbled screen. If you press up a fraction of a second first it won't glitch.
If you press fire button exactly...
Have you tried manually upping the initial resistance? My device reads 0.01-0.02 lower than my joytech mods. In ss tc that relates to a difference of 150f to 300f. Fire the coil wait for resistance to drop to desired number and lock it there.
Yeah, I'll rephrase that. I new nothing about it. I'd just started fannying about with an ego stardust jobby from my corner shop when the tpd was passed and it just wasn't on my radar till much later.
Welcome to the club mate! You're absolutely right about the so called "more accurate" tc. There own convertor uses 5 decimal places and only gives you 4 on the device! The difference between say 0.0005 and 0.0006 is huge. No middle ground to play about with.
Having said that it has some real...
Most of us have now got this device to a decent workable level. I've done it through reading the complaints and fixes on this thread. Sigelei released a tc device that uses different tcr numbers to all other devices.......and didn't tell anybody. There was no information about this before we all...
Lol it's not the easiest to wick. When I got mine I had 2 days off work and spent the whole of the time banging my head against a brickwall trying to get it to wick proper. Now I've got a build I can replicate every time and it outperforms everything I've got. And I've got a lot lol.
It took me a couple of days to get mine working well. My method is similar to yours except I rake the cotton either side of the coil instead of trimming it. I then use a 2.5mm rod from my coil master to push down the cotton to let air through. I've found the bigger you make the air holes the...
I bought about 100m of 26 gauge 316L a while back so it's all I really use lol. Imho it's probably the best wire to get as most tc devices seem to use 316L as there default setting. Also great in power mode. Just remember that ss has a much lower resistance than kanthal so don't get to thick a...
