Thanks all for the insight. I converted a mod on veteran's day, and have been putting it through the paces ever since. Pretty much 2 batteries per day, but being as I really don't have much time to vape at work, getting through the day is not that much of a problem. A nice trade off for a more...
2000-2500 should be pretty shiny, if you can use a well worn piece of either as the grit is worn away and it polishes nicely. Also for ~$9 on amazon you can get 2" squares of micro mesh that work quite nicely.
I have some purple Efests that are not getting used, and while a VTC5 lasts me ~24 hours @2ml and @15W, I'm thinking I could get 6-8 hours (lets say a day of work) from a 18500. Is anyone running within these parameters or close to them, and/or be willing to voice their opinion? Thanks!
Wow Mundy, very impressed. I believe it was about 4 years ago that nicotime said, "pretty soon we'll drop a battery into a bottle of juice and vape away". Way to make this happen! :D
Very nice Genosmate, The last couple of days I've been thinking about refinishing a maple mod with CA, now I see more reason to do so. What atty is that?
Ahh, I think I read into the question the wrong way. Yes that works as there is a common ground on the board. I imagined that there was an issue with getting the negative from the battery tube itself. I use the bat- on the board, but not the out-. That said, if I disconnect the bat-, but there...
Interesting tube. I would suggest drilling a small hole in the side and soldering a wire into the hole. If you tin the hole area first it really would not be to hard. Back in the day I would have used this tube quite happily for a side by side.
Tooling I kept to about 125 for the 2 of them, at least for now. My parting tool of choice is still a hacksaw, heh.

My Grizzly worked out to be $629, shipped from Missouri. I wasn't lucky enough to have one available for pick up in Washington until mid August, and I certainly wanted to use it over the summer. To make up for it I picked up a Unimat DB 200 in good condition for $25 from Craigslist. The wife...
Forgive me for forgetting the first sentence of your post, it is Sunday evening for me.
I thought it was your own creation and was wondering what tools you had gotten recently.
Studiovap, I've got a major gripe about that mod, the pics are so small I'll have to stretch them so badly for my desktop wallpaper. :(
Is the brass externally CA finished as well?
With vaping we are interested in getting the most current through our circuits. One can use flowing water as an analogy for electrical current. By using the shortest runs of the thickest gauge reasonable, you restrict the current the least, much as if the wire is plumbing for water. A commercial...
