    WIP DNA20 Compact 18650 Mod

Will the files for this eventually be released? I would seriously consider ponying up the cash to have this machined out of aluminum from a shop like this.

    Why do we use PG?

PG is your coffee and VG is your cream. Both have their merits, though you probably wouldn't want to drink either by themselves. When combined in the right proportions, you get something that is greater than the sum of its parts.

I need two high-discharge 1860 batteries in NJ IMEDIATELY!

Nope, charger's good. I measured and the batteries are coming out of the charger at 4.2V, but they drop down to 3V after only a few puffs. According to their site, they're on vacation until tomorrow. I need these by tomorrow.

I need two high-discharge 1860 batteries in NJ IMEDIATELY!

I ran into a perfect storm of failures. The mini-USB charging port on my Darwin broke, and both batteries for my provari are dead and won't take a charge. I'm leaving for a 4-day family thanksgiving gathering on Wed. afternoon and I need batteries for the provari before then. I can't survive...

Houston, we have a problem...BE nic titration results

For the record, I sent an email to Jason at Vapor Renu asking if his liquids were based on this source. This is the response I got: So it looks like their liquid at least isn't affected by these shoddy QC issues.

    Darwin by Evolv Initial Impressions

My original Darwin is still going strong. I drip as well, but I drip into cartos (which are less leak-prone), so I haven't manged to kill it with juice. I have had the occasional leak, but they've been minor and haven't caused any real damage. I find sliding a piece of paper between the brass...

BREAKTHROUGH INNOVATION! – The Ego Booster from Artisan Vaping

Did you actually read my post? The egobooster puts more strain on the ego batteries then they were designed to handle. Considering the relatively short average lifespan of ego batteries, they're probably operating out of spec in their default configuration. Under regular use, ego batteries...

BREAKTHROUGH INNOVATION! – The Ego Booster from Artisan Vaping

A low-end variable mod will be cheaper than an egobooster setup in under a year. If we round down and assume $50 for an ego starter kit, $60 for the booster, $15 per replacement battery, and 2-month (optimistic) battery lifespan, you're looking at a TCO of $170 for the year. Compare that to a...

BREAKTHROUGH INNOVATION! – The Ego Booster from Artisan Vaping

Vaprlife has three of them. The joker, pearl and turbo are all available in fixed 5V or adjustable models. I honestly can't recommend them however, since my joker died within 6 months, and my coworker's died even quicker. The wiring used internally is far to fine for the amount of current...

BREAKTHROUGH INNOVATION! – The Ego Booster from Artisan Vaping

Not just battery life, but battery lifespan as well. Even the "name brand" ego batteries aren't exactly famous for long-term reliability. The fact is, keeping resistance constant, raising the voltage must also raise the current. You're pulling more power from the device than it was designed...

New Generation Showdown: Darwin vs ProVari

It's at least two cells. I suppose it could be three (which would make the most sense based on the no-load voltage), but I didn't want to peel the cells apart to be sure. They were taped together in a neat bundle, and as tightly as everything fit together, I wasn't sure I could put it back...

New Generation Showdown: Darwin vs ProVari

The actual switch chosen (surface mount microswitch) and the method of actuating it (stamped brass lever/plate) lead to a situation where even tiny variations in manufacturing can drastically affect performance. The microswitch's travel is less than 1mm, and the button/plate is designed to sit...

New Generation Showdown: Darwin vs ProVari

The actual button is a very tiny microswitch. The brass part you press is just a stamped metal plate that sits on top of it. You must have gotten very lucky, because my button requires significant pressure to activate, and unless significant pressure is constantly applied, it will stop firing...

New Generation Showdown: Darwin vs ProVari

I edited the relavant section to make note of this. I was aware of the feature, but it's really too much trouble for me to use. Thanks, Don. You're pretty much the king of thorough reviews around here, so that really means something. I agree that an updated version could easily make the...

New Generation Showdown: Darwin vs ProVari

First there were simple mods - nothing more than a battery in a tube with a button and an atty connector. Then there were 5V mods, which used two batteries and a linear 5V regulator to get closer to the "sweet spot". Then they turned it up a notch with variable linear regulators - letting...

Provape Provari is not just Hype it's Unbelievable.!

I got the AW IMR 18650s and extension cap for my provari a couple days ago, and it's still disappointingly short-lived. I'm only getting about 6hrs out of a 1600mAh battery, which seems awfully low.

Provape Provari is not just Hype it's Unbelievable.!

I've had a provari for about a week, and it's pretty decent. The battery life is much lower than I was expecting - I don't even get a full work day out of an 1100mAh AW IMR 18490. I ordered an extension cap and a AW 18650 to see if that is enough to make it through. I like the drip reservoir...

How to remove atty connector from a Joker?

My joker died a couple days ago. The LED still lit up, but I was getting no voltage at the connector. I have already ordered a provari to replace it, but it's at least a week out. I took the joker apart as far as I could and discovered the cause of the problem. The positive wire had broken...

Wouldn't really matter if it did. Nic liquid is non-conductive.
