    Oh, I suppose anything that has iron in it will, over time, oxidize to some extent. I imagine that with stainless steel, it's an extremely slow process. Probably depends, too, on the carbon and chromium content, as well as other elements used in the alloy.

    Yeah, a shorted coil is a bad thing all by itself. :P But I found it odd that when it happened, the button on my Workhorse stuck in the depressed state.     For just the exterior, I would think any light metal polish would work. I use Blue Magic on my other mechs (chrome, brass) and it works fine. David has already warned against using anything abrasive on contacts, but I can't imagine it bothering the outside surfaces. I'd be curious what others think.
