Yeah, a shorted coil is a bad thing all by itself.
But I found it odd that when it happened, the button on my Workhorse stuck in the depressed state. Wasn't difficult to unstick it - just twisted the top tube, but nonetheless, just weird. Hands-down, this is the nicest tail switch I have, so I'm curious -- any speculation on why that would occur? No matter how hard I try to push the button in a funny way, it just won't misbehave with no battery in place, or any other normal condition.
I also note that a Samsung INR18650 will supply sufficient current to really heat up the switch area quickly. Possibly, it's the heat making something stick?
