Flitz polishing compound (Sears, Amazon) and dremel with polishing wheel @ 10k rpms then increase speed till a mirror polish. If you want to remove the brushed finish you may have to use 3m 800, then 1200 grit sand paper by hand the same direction of the grain, then polish with Flitz polishing...

Tried swapping caps from my aluminum M16 and the brass version. The aluminum caps will fit on the brass tubes but the brass caps won't fit the aluminum. The threading on aluminum tubes must be a smaller pitch. The aluminum tubes are a tad shorter and will fit my Panasonic CGR18650CH button tops...
