I've been freezing my 100% VG nic base for the past 4 years with no separation, discoloration, or altered taste. I wrap my bottles in either wadded up paper towels, or scraps of cloth.

I never had that problem. I just used up some frozen nic from April of 2013 and it was just as good as when it went in the freezer. I buy 48mg though. Perhaps it wasn't mixed well when you got it. Did you shake it before transferring? Even then, the jury is out as to whether 'hot pockets' of nic...
