now I've tried to switch to a hard cap tank, but it didn't seem to help. I switched atomizer and that seems to have done the trick, but can't be too sure yet. Still, I find it odd if the atomizer (which was just a week old btw) was at fault.

or wait, I have some hard cap ones from totally wicked with liquid in them, so I'll just empty one, fill it up and see how it goes. I'll report back:)
