Sounds to me like your addy might be getting too dry while vaping on it. Try adding a few drops of e-liquid to the addy and see if the problem goes away. Also, the taste could be residual fluid left on the addy from packaging (They're packed in fluid so they don't dry out, and that stuff tastes...

To be on the safe side, I wouldn't blow it in their direction. It should be safer than smoking, if you're in the same room as them, since vapour doesn't travel as far in the air as smoke does. It's still always best to be on the safe side, and keep a bit of distance if you are still worried.
