No, the 510 atty and 401 battery are identical (both male). The 401 atty is the same as the connector on the 510 battery so it can be used as the connector when creating a battery mod for use with the 510 atty

As caesar said, building a NicoStick with a 14500 battery is going to give you longer battery life between charges, not massive vapor. A freshly charged 14500 will put out 4.2 volts, so initially, you might get a bit more vapor but that will trail off as the battery discharges. After that, you...
