    Heya Steve , I wouldn't.. 1.7 ohm SC cartos are probably best run at around 3.7 - 4v. I have pushed a 1.7 SC to around 4.2 volts.. then it starts to taste nasty / burned... with or without a tank. What are you seeking from your 1.7ohm carto , that you are not getting at or below 4Volts...
