Steeping Times and an Ultrasonic Cleaner Part III

You steep your final juice. No point in trying to get flavoring to blend with just itself. You can use either PET or glass. Though I prefer glass myself for everything. No chance for leached plasticizers & stands up better to heat & long-term storage. If the water is too hot, plastic bottles...

Steeping Times and an Ultrasonic Cleaner Part III

Hi Candy. I'm sure mine & bobalex's closets are probably in the same state. Regarding labelling, I stick a piece of scotchtape on the top of the cap & label that since it isn't in the water & doesn't get wet. After they're done, I dry off & label the bottle (or just stick with the...

Steeping Times and an Ultrasonic Cleaner Part III

Looks good. No heating option , but the water tends to heat up anyway due to the ultrasonic action, especially during longer cycles. You could also fill with warm water at the start anyway.

    Sweetener??

Ethyl Maltol while it does sweeten a bit is different to sweetener (sucralose) per se. EM smooths flavor edges & adds mouth feel & body to vapor but isn't as powerful a sweetening agent as sucralose sweetener. I use both. Read Hoosier's blog post for a better idea of how EM works...

Steeping Times and an Ultrasonic Cleaner Part III

Hi Vikky. 4 hrs should be enough for most flavors. Really depends on if its a flavor that needs a long steep time or not. If it tastes good, then yeah! its long enough. :) About 2-4 drops AP in 10ml should be good depending on your sensitivity to AP & the effect you're going for. I measure my EM...

Why is this juice so powerfully numbing

Well mystery solved. 50ml of flavoring for the cost of pre-mixed juice?! Point me at 'em! I want that deal too!

Questions and Frustrations with mixing my own juice

PG carries flavor better but less vapor. VG is thicker, needs more flavor, but produces more vapor. Nic base can sometimes have a color, though that doesn't necessarily mean its bad. It just means the nic has oxidized a bit. If your nic has a taste, it will carry through to the finished juice...

What PV should i get?? its getting more and more confusing

Breaking a VAMO from a drop? what did you drop it in? Molten lava? lol Seriously, they're really strong. I've dropped mine a number of times & still works perfectly. Strong PV, great price, more features than a Provari....what's the problem? Especially for a beginner? And yes I'll always have a...

Would like some opinions on fast steeping

Like I mentioned in the other thread that's the same model i have & its one of the best. 30min timer, heat, large capacity and still going strong after 6 months of use. You won't be sorry :)

Steeping Times and an Ultrasonic Cleaner Part III

Hi vikky. The plastic bag reduces the effectiveness of the ultrasonic waves drastically so you'll get a better result without it. Are you GUCEing with the caps off? Just close the caps tightly & check them every hour or so. Water level only needs to be up to the level of the liquid in the...

Steeping Times and an Ultrasonic Cleaner Part III

Same one i have. Works wonderfully with all the bells & whistles :) Let her know about all the nice, shiny sparkling clean jewellery she's gonna have lol AP is a basically a flavor molecule with a nutty taste. It's very strong so a little goes a looooong way. Some people tend to detect the...

    Let's talk super concentrates.

Don't think the SC's (or most flavorings sold especially for vaping) contain any artificial flavorings. Any color you get will most likely be from tannins in the flavor molecules itself, reactions with your base & nic oxidization. Lorann's is actually a food/bakery flavoring, I believe, so not...

Would like some opinions on fast steeping

Ultrasonic cleaner. Ultrasonic cleaner. Cons? None. Pros? Way less waiting time to vape my creations. I live in Trinidad & its bright & sunny here most of the time, so I'd say "weather- Good!" Sorry, couldn't resist.

Steeping Times and an Ultrasonic Cleaner Part III

Hey bobalex, great thread. Got a UC & tried it for steeping my liquids about 6mths ago & have never looked back. :) About time i said thanks! lol For the ECX 555 try a drop or 2 of acetyl pyrazine per 5ml to get that nutty element you're looking for. The ECX 555 is one of my faves.

    Let's talk super concentrates.

All the FruitExpress & TobaccoExpress are the SC on ECX.

    VG base only recipes

Thanks for the reply man & confirming what I've been thinking. That's been exactly my experience too including added steeping time. Was starting to wonder if maybe I was going through some sort of weird flavor immunity phase lol I've been arriving at the same conclusions as well & sad to say...

    MTS Vape Wizard

Takes the rough edges off a mix. Smooths the sharp top notes of a tobacco mix & lets the background notes come through more. Sometimes makes a difference, especially with strong or harsh tobaccos, other times not really.

    VG base only recipes

Hey buffaloguy. I use ECX SC flavors usually in a 30/70 mix. Most are good at 4%-5% but some I'm using up to 7%-8% & still not the strong flavor I want. What's been your experience with the ECX SC? And how do they stack up to the VZ SC's & Hangsen essences?

Can DIY match the quality of "pro" juice?

I believe what gtseng is saying is making base mixes of each different flavor, steeping them, then using these steeped mixes to create different blends. Viable, but you will need to first figure out what % is good for each individual flavor, else you run the risk of some base mixes being...
