    sentinal m16 brass

I have one from FT. It's my everyday device. My ONLY complaint is that the treads are just slightly short. With a flat top 18650 (65.2mm) there is 1 exposed thread on each end of the center tube. But it's solid as a rock and hits very well. The contacts will need a light cleaning with...

    What happened to my battery?

It is HIGHLY unlikely that this discoloration is due to heat. The wrappers are PVC heat shrink tube that require 200-275°F to shrink. You would certainly know if your battery exceeded that temp and caused damage or discoloration to the wrapper.

    Testing Batteries

Measuring the internal resistance can give you an comparative idea of how they perform and you can form an educated opinion, but it's not a definitive "Max Current = XX amps". The problem with that is if you dont already own the equipment (quality multimeter, test adapters/leads, power...

    Stacked batteries and Amp Rating...

I don't see any reason to attempt this other than curiosity. 1) I'd be surprised if the max supported battery length is ACTUALLY ~105mm. 2) You'd end up with 3.6V, 1600mAh and a 10C discharge rating...no better, actually worse, than a high quality, high drain, Li-Ion. 3) It's an...

Glycerin Vegetable Kosher USP - 1 Quart $8.99

I find it pretty amazing that some people that used to intentionally put thousands of chemicals in their bodies suddenly flips a switch and becomes a USP/Organic/Vegan/All Natural/Purity advocate. Do you do this in all aspects of life? (<--aimed an no one in-particular) Buy organic meats? Drink...

**Sub-Ohm Vaping** Discussion, Safety, Battery Info, & Warnings

A bit more "technical" explanation for those that may be wondering... Batteries have their own internal resistance separate from the coil resistance. This resistance uses up a portion of the power that would [in a perfect world] go to the coil. Good high drain batteries typically have an...

How many watts can a person take?

Perhaps they do, and perhaps they are stating theoretical numbers...but that was the purpose of my question. I didnt say it was wrong to use theoretical numbers for discussion, sometimes that is the best that we can do. I'm only stating that it isn't accurate. My question was not meant to be...

How many watts can a person take?

...And the mod, and the atomizer. Some mods, even "high-end" mods, have more resistance than today's "ultra-high drain" batteries. Every piece of metal and every contact point between the Bat[+] and Bat[-] add to the total resistance of the circuit.

How many watts can a person take?

The mod is irrelevant. I'm merely asking if you are actually getting what you think you are getting. Like I said, if you're not measuring voltage, you'll probably be surprised. You only gave 1 data point, so you might actually be getting the 40w that you say you did. The others quoted in my...

How many watts can a person take?

How many of you are actually measuring the voltage at the coil to see if you are getting what you think you are? I'd bet you'll be surprised. ;)

What are the best 18650 and 18350 batteries for my SID?

Do NOT take the shrink wrap off. You should be using high drain batteries. The best battery out right now for a VV/VW device is probably the Panasonic NCR18560PD or NCR18650PF. Both are 2900mAh rated for 10A discharge. The only 18350 worth spending money on is AW. All others fall short.

A basic understanding of resistance/Ohms and how it relates to building coils and vaping?

With a VV or VW device, resistance will have no effect on battery drain current. Conservation of energy... Battery Life - Low Resistance, High Resistance, and Efficiency. ;)

Where is the American mech mod?

That wasn't my intention either. My comments were directed specifically to muzichead's comments about the cost of materials and machining for a high-end mod. To the topic, mass-production would require mass-demand. Obviously, supply and demand drives the market and the Chinese have a firm...

SAFE battery for sub ohming?? PLEASE HELP!

I knew there was a reason that I felt the need for a new quote in my sig. How fitting. You dont seem interested in learning. You seem to want people to feed you the answers without having to do any of the reading/research on your own. Baditude even gave you a hint that there was a...

Where is the American mech mod?

$70? The threads alone could cost $70 to cut at a fair labor rate. I think that most of the prices for "hand-made" mods are quite fair. Having more than a few hours behind a lathe, I know that high quality and precision do not come quick, and therefore do not come cheap. I'd be surprised to...

    My Toothbrush is Unregulated

Disassemble the toothbrush, find the motor, attach 510 connector to motor, solder wires, buy a ProVari...BAM!! VV toothbrush... I get 50% of the patent royalties. :D

    How low can you go!!!

Not exactly. Current isnt regulated in the battery. Current is dictated by ohms law [I=E/R] with R being the TOTAL circuit resistance...including the internal resistance of the battery. If you were drawing a peak of 26 amps at the start then your TOTAL circuit resistance would have been ~0.16Ω...

    30 amp batteries, worth it?

Ah...you are concerned with the electric shock a person could experience? Have you ever touched a 9V battery to your tongue to see if it still had a charge? We are dealing with less than half of 9 volts, so you get effectively half the effect of licking a fully charged 9V battery. Besides...

    How low can you go!!!

 Neither one of these methods is remotely valid when you are talking about discharge rating. To be honest, there isn't a single benchmark that they would be useful for.

    30 amp batteries, worth it?

There are many benefits to a high discharge battery, even if you're only using 20% of its rating. Usually a higher discharge rating means a lower internal resistance. Lower internal resistance will give you less voltage drop, longer battery life, and the ability to vape a higher resistance coil...
