I have seen it called tiger or flame maple also.
Do you require a poly fininsh? Reason I ask is because I quit using poly on my mods years ago. It started to look more and more plastic like and also could not feel the warmth and texture of the wood when using it. So I started using a wax/oil...
Kinda figured that was the one. As I said it is a dyed one made from Curly Maple with Ambrosia Maple sides. Was an experiment in that my previous dyed ones had wax and oil finishes with a few problems with the color fast. Especially when juice got on it. So for this one I finished it with Spray...
Thank you very much
You will have to be a little more specific tho as I have 3 purple ones pictured 2 naturally purple ones and 1 in which I dyed the wood.
If this is the one then I am sorry no. I have not been able to figure out what type of wood it is. I was able to get 2 mods out of the piece of wood that I started from. This one and the next picture with the inlay. Look nothing alike but from same piece.
As for the other that one I can tell...
Mods want to make it perfectly clear I am not trying to Sell any of these here squonkers.
Just want to share some of the mods I have made recently with these fine folks.
The majority are the 2 types of squonkers I currently make Unregulated and Mechanical.
First off some group shots and then...
While I too have bought from Bell Forest. I also buy from a local to me Exotic Wood Store. They have an offcuts bargain bin in which I can find some very nice pieces which suit my needs. But none are labeled and since I acknowledge that I am terrible at identifying wood from an image on the web...
For those that have never seen it or can not remember it here is a link where I showed you how to make a simple and cheap display stand.
How to make quick & easy display shelves.
Here is how it ended up at the time.
After adding a couple of more levels I decided to recently finish it up...
The main question I have is where did you get your mosfets from?
What happened to me was that I used about 40 mosfets from one supplier and had only 4 that did not work.
The next 40 I purchased none worked for a box mod. They would work with a voltmeter attached and show voltage at 510 when...
Total Vaper. For 5 years now. Still have the last 4 cigs I had when my first kit arrived. I was one of the lucky ones and able to stop after 30 years of smoking.
Since I posted some of my wood Squonkers in Squonk Porn. I decide to post the non ones here. As I said in that post NONE are for Sale. And NO plans to sell any of them in the future.
What are pictured here are Dual 18650 wood mods in various configurations. Parallel, Series both with mosfets and...
@steve121 Well done first step on the road to modding. As retired1 said alot of us got started by modding our existing equipment. Either to improve or to keep them going longer. What you will find if you keep at it is that you will continue to learn and improve. Do not let the naysayers bring...
Thanks @Doffy. Yea I have posted a couple of times in that thread in the past. And while I enjoy reading it. It was causing me to have tool envy  It seems like everyone but me has or is going to buy all this fancy equipment which because of space and financials issues I will never be...
