    Mad Dog's Magnum Mod Help

You're running the LED in series with the atomizer, if you ever had them both hooked up at the same time you more than likely instantly fried the LED. LEDs generally can't handle more than about 40-60mA (.04-.06A), and an atomizer at 4.5v is pulling almost 2A. Edit: Didn't see the resistor...

    voltage reg

Yeah, this is really re-designing the wheel. Theres a bunch of car-lighter adapers that output 5v in your choice of output plug, many up to 2-3A. Trying to regulate 12v down to 5v yourself is just a lot of wasted effort when a $5 part will do the trick.

What makes higher end models better?

Aside from polish and possibly longevity, nothing. Pretty much every mod available right now is just a different case for a battery. Changing voltage doesn't even matter anymore with readily available low resistance/high resistance atomizers. Flavors don't really have much to do with the...

Altsmoke's got some stuff, and healthcabin carries some as well.

how to reduce JPG file size

Microsoft Paint works great for this, just hit shift-w and resize them to whatever %. Even dropping to 99% will usually cut them at least in half. Shouldn't be too hard to get them to 50k in jpg.

    High Voltage Atomizers

Brodius - Scott is correct on you being spoiled on a 12-14watt vape, a 5v experience for you would be pretty lackluster. Most of us who did the testing found that 6v was just too damned harsh, I personally despise it - the vapor is too wispy and I've got to constantly drink something as I vape...

    HV atties..voltage vs resistance question

This is actually my area of expertise, as I spearheaded the whole High Voltage atty thing after a late nite chat with Cisco and some ideas were thrown around. The goal of the HV atomizers is to produce the wattage of a standard atomizer on 5v using different voltages. I ordered a bunch of...

Would e-cigs be damaged by magnets?

The short answer is no, but the long answer is "I couldn't really answer this with 100% certainty without doing extensive testing, but aside from a /very/ powerful magnet breaking the nicochrome wire in the atomizer, there isn't really anything that should be harmed by a magnet in most ecigs."

Computer Case mods for USB PT's?

Running a passthrough off one of the 5v rails would work perfectly, you don't even need anything but a powersupply in the case, just rig your passthru to use a molex connector instead of USB. Just make sure that you plug it into the 5v rail that is supplying at least 3A, some micro atx supplies...

    Smoke machine for puppet theater?

Joe, This wouldn't be too terribly hard to make, however it would be a completely custom job from the ground up, I would expect to pay between $50 and $150 to have it made, the modders forum may be a good spot to find someone who can. The setup: 801 atomizer with an unsealed connector (very...

    Nerf's OFFICIAL OEM 401/510/801/901 connector thread V2.1

Nope, only have 801s and 401s left now, all the others are gone and I'm closing shop once the 801s and 401s are gone too.

    Not sure if it's safe...

It is perfectly safe, however your best bet if you want to use the tiny cigarette-looking batteries is to get ahold of some of the manual button mega-batteries, I think they are up to 350 or 400 mAh these days. 510s draw more current than 801s, and while the 'stock' batteries are identical...

    Usb Passthrough

Get the 5v version, you'll be happy you did. The vapor production and throat hit are amazing, and you'll never want to go back to 3.7v.

    High Voltage Atomizers

It's all personal taste, and all HV atomizers are not the same. The eastmall ones are actually designed for 6v, but their +/- .3 ohms tolerance is off from the results I've been given. I've gotten reports of the eastmall atomizers being off by as much as 1.2 ohms in either direction, so it's...

    High Voltage Atomizers

4.2/4.5 ohm at 6v should be great, running a standard 510 (2.5 ohm) atomizer at 6v will more than likely cause a premature death to at least the atomizer, at most the switch will fry much sooner as well, and theres a greater chance of battery kaboom in the case of unprotected batteries, or...

    Best Atty at 6v?

Use one of the 4.5 ohm atomizers that nhaler is carrying, they are specced specifically to produce 5v wattage at 6 volts, and the 510 will give you a much, much better throat hit than the be112. Edit: 510 only, no help on the 901s, sorry.

    Joye 510-Atomizer smoking

Atomizers hold 1-2ml of liquid in them, so activating it without a cart will begin to vaporize this liquid that it holds.

    Frustrated Beyond Belief !

It's really hard to diagnose this in the experts forum, as I can't really probe with questions and go from there. Standard atomizers will sometimes not work very well on anything over 5 volts, 4-5 second hits is fine, and I generally get 3 weeks to a month and a half out of my 510s on 5 volts...
