For under 100$ I recommend this type to people interested. Though Id now replace the startdust/Ce4 with the vision nanos, they are very easy, don't leak and work well. New! VISION Nano Clearomizer : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

$29.95 The power supply
SLB eGo-V True VV Pass Through eGo 3.0-6.0v LCD Screen - BLACK [gv-SLBeGo-V-PassThrough-BLACK] - $29.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

$9.45 x 2 The atomizer (called a clearomizer tank...) Id get 2 to
start off with
GotVapes Vision Mini ViVi Nova™ 2.5ml 2.4ohm [gv-MiniViViNova510-2.4ohm] - $8.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

$2.95 x 4 Replacement heads for the tank, get 4 minimum usually last
about a 1-2 weeks per head. Replace (or clean if you want, very easy
to clean, I can show you how) when it tastes burnt, not dry (as in no
liquid in the wick) but burnt.
GotVapes VISION ViVi NOVA™ Twist-On HEAD 2.4ohm Long Wick [gv-VIVNOVA-CoilHeadONLY-2.4] - $2.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

$13.95 x 2 Nicotine juice (my wife lives this flavor its a tobaccoish
flavor. If the person you are getting this for is a heavy smoker id
say get 17-24 mg (its in the drop down box)
FLüX™ Nectar Premium Tobacco - PYRAMID FUSION 36 ml 70/30 PG/VG [flux-tobPYRAMID-36ml] - $13.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

The above at the amounts I put down comes out to about $88.55. The
juice usually last my wife about 1.5-2 weeks per bottle.

Let me know if you have any questions

Nate

p.s. I put a few more links below. I use the vendors I have linked
pretty regularly.

This store also has a ton of other flavors, some are good some not so
much, the only way you'll know if you like them is to try them...
FLüX™ Nectar e-Juice : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Another good juicer vendor, Id recommend legendary, coffee and cream
and caramel movachino
Buy Electronic Cigarettes Online, E Cigarette Liquid Refill, E Cig Juice

Another good juice vendor I recommend Bobas bounty or gorilla juice,
(yes the names are weird) both are tobaccoish juices, more like pipe
tobacco than cigs or cigars.
Alien Visions E-Juice

Menthol drops from this same vendor if you want menthol flavoring for
any liquid, just one or two drops is sufficient.
Alien Visions E-Juice

Maybe I am just old fashioned but my advice being a newbie myself is to try and locate a local brick and mortar store so you can hold and try before you buy. My local store is setup so you can sample all their juices for taste before you buy. I almost bought a Vaperonly VV online I thought was a good deal but went to the store first and they had one. Turns out I didn't care for how it felt in my hand or vaped but I did find a Bamboo VV/VW (Vamo) I liked. Now I can go online and find the better deal, but so far the store has a better kit deal and I can personalize it with a tank of my choice and juices I know I will like. Just because a review or other people say the product is great, doesn't mean it will suit your personal tastes. Just my .02 cents.

My area, has only one decent B&M and its prices are ridiculous, and its employees aren't exactly the most knowledgeable.

I am new to this, for a week now.

This is solely my opinion based on what is available locally to me.

I wanted to quit smoking and I knew that for me, the e-cig was the best choice. I went by a local vendor, that specializes in e-cigs and juices.

While their prices on the ego kits are higher than what I could have found online, I had it in hand, AND, was able to sample many of the juices they sell.

I did at first question how much I spent on my first setup, as I have seen in many other posts by new members, BUT, I realized that the money spent would have been spent on cigarettes, that when smoked, would have left me nothing to show except more stink and ash.

In any case, while I enjoy this Ego-T Upgrade kit with a Kanger Protank and a Vivi Nova mini, I am planning on getting an AGA-T2 and a Shipwreck mod.

My suggestion, get the Ego-T setup, get some juice similar to what you smoke now, READ this site and learn to think about working overtime!

YMMV.

Aw, rabidly enthusiastic newfriends make me feel warm and fuzzy.

But thanks for the thread, I want to send kits to my folks down in georgia but the newfangled kgo seems less than ideal since it locks after ten seconds. Not just cuts off... locks. Derp, maybe I'm spoiled on taking looooooooooooooong draws on my mechs at this point.

Mine is the one and done approach, that's how I did it. So this is what I bought. All is from Provape site. I have since added another ProVari and an AGA T2 and RichMan rebuildable atomizers. So I guess instead of one and done it's more like two and done.

Ignoring sum of da requisites of da orig post...

How 'bout we reverse engineer dis exercise? Let's consider what da n00bs are lookin' fer. If I may:

- Simple, fuss free, minimal maintenance and a satisfactory vape to encourage vaping over smoking
- No batt concerns, other than batt life
- No PV menu concerns
- No Ohm's law 'complications'
- No "adjust dis n' modify dat"
- Affordable and sustainable

With dat said, I say to my v-verts... "Here's an eGo batt (nowadays, preferably a Twist or Spinner) with an eMDCC. Properly saturate da wicking and top off when da vapor and/or flav drops off. Don't vape dry!". Don't get much more simple and satisfying than dat! If they want to go beyond what got 'em off da 'bakky, I'm there to assist.

I also strongly urge 'em to find at least two fav flavs!

As for any links from me, noper. Just put yourself in a n00b's shoes and click on all da links embedded thus far...

My v-verts are far beyond my Google kung-fu and are quite capable to explore on their own (as are most of ya'll); kinda like sending your kid off to college. Just stand by to answer any of their questions and help when ya can!

NEVER forget your n00b experiences...

Well considering everyone I have sent those emails to, the second one has been sent to quite a few people, they never had complaints and bought what I recommended and have generally been happy.

To each his own I guess, but if I had been given something like that when I was starting out (mind you I tend to research everything I buy and look at reviews and recommended buys) then I would have saved a lot of money. If anything its a good list of links for a person to look at with some reputable vendors.

I would pick up:

2 eGo C Upgrade batteries with passthrough charging. $36
eGo-T 1100mAh USB Passthrough Battery
Being able to charge and use, they are easy. A must have for the new guy if you want to switch, they need something easy to use. And they are adjustable, a constant 3.2 volts or the adjustable voltage, the higher the charge, the higher the voltage. So you can choose to use the constant easy 3.2 or if you want more, you can have it.

Micro USB charger $4
Amazon.com: Motorola Micro USB Travel Charger - AC Plug: Electronics
A wall charger cause not many have a mini usb charger anymore. Almost all phones now use micro usb.

iClear 16 $5
Innokin iClear 16 Dual Coil Clearomizer
They are simple, easy to use, cheap coil replacement, and being dual coil they give off nice flavor and vape.

iClear 16 replacement coils $3 per
http://www.ecigarsenal.com/Innokin-iClear-16-Replacement-Coil-Head-p/30911.htm

Total cost without juice is $55 with three replacement coils. Can cost $38 if you only get one battery, but I suggest you get 2 cause you don't want to run into not having one that's charged and so you just pick up a pack of smokes cause it's easier.

Now for juice I highly suggest you go find a local vape shop. Not a tobacco store that sells the stuff, not a head (pot pipe) shop that sells the stuff. But a real vape shop with people working in it are nerds about vaping and know more about the subject than you could imagine. Go try some flavors and make some buds. They will be your knowledge base to the new world. Just tell them your buddy gave you this stuff to get you started and now you need to know how to use it and need a place to buy some juice from.

Just my 2 cents and I figure if you have something easy and people you can talk to, you can change bad habbits.

nice sets all around....and I certainly agree on most juice vendors.
I do wish I had someone direct me when I was a n00b.
I do believe that this is the best value and lowest maintenance device currently available.
This is the full kit (exept for wall adapter and juice) and it's $40 !!! The MVP2 battery lasts almost 3 days
Wall adapters can be had for about $ 4-10 and juices at MBV are inexpensive and pretty good (for the most part).
I'm surprised this isn't in this thread.

most B&M will charge anywhere from $60 to $180 for a VV/VW starter kit.

I suggest that as a second buy. I ended up buying a vv twist battery as my second, then I got the MVP V2. Gave the twist to my gf. Start them off with something easy to understand. All the variable stuff my ward off a new guy. I know it would me I had to carry around a block.

I went to a local B&M and they started me of with the Vamo2, they explained how to turn it on and off and the VV/VW feature and that was about it.
The rest I figured out on my own, reading instructions, and then I found this forum :D

So, personally I don't think even a VV/VW is too hard or intimidating for a first timer newb, as long as the functions are explained.
