My Mother passed away in 2008, so I just get together with some other friends who don't have any family around... icon_cheesygrin.gif

Entry #3: Tell us how you plan to celebrate this year. What are your traditions?

Gift opening on Christmas eve evening now that is just hubby and me at home. Then Turkey and all the trimmings to be shared with family. One big meal and then days of leftovers to go along with all the pie we can eat. :D

My family traditions have changed over the years as dear family members have passed on and kids have grown up...I have held onto one tradition that I follow myself....at midnight on Christmas Eve night, I turn off all the lights and watch "A Christmas Carol". Reminds me of my childhood and makes me feel all safe and warm and loved. :)

My favorite things this time of year are:
The beautiful decorations and lights on homes.
People showing kindness and compassion toward others. Feeling and sensing the true Christmas spirit all around.
Baking and cooking things that are usually only done on the Holidays!
Being able to lighten my purse by putting extra change in those bell-ringer's buckets every where I go LOL
