1 1/2 years smoke free

Been lurking here for a couple of months and figured I would introduce myself. I'm 41 y/o firefighter that smoked for about 25 years. I had tried the blue cig-a-likes and a few others like it but never with any success. I ran across a Buck Naked kit one day in a gas station and decided to give it a try. Got Buck Naked Turkish Tobacco to go with it. That was my last analog. I have been vaping now for 1 1/2 years and am not going back. I feel much better and can breather easier now than I have in a long time.

I've changed equipment over time and tried a bunch of different juices. I started with the ego style batteries and tanks and I now have a Vaporshark rDNA40 with a Kanger Sub tank Mini and love it. Juices have been my biggest problem. I stuck with the Buck Naked for quite awhile but it got to where it tasted bad, chemical taste. So began my saga to find a new juice. One thing I did discover was that I can not tolerate more then 70% PG. My mouth was breaking out with sores and I thought I was gonna have to quit vaping and go back to analogs. But I found I need to stick with a 50/50 blend or higher VG and its all god. Right now I am using Halo Torque56 and Velvet Cloud Vapor Blue Beard Tobacco. I mix these together and get a good flavor for me.

I just ordered a rDNA40D too, can't wait to get it and give it a test drive! But for your juice query they shouldn't mix juice with the PG higher then 60%, you can but it isn't recommended. If you want to try something cool and have a little spare time try a sight like DIY flavor shack out of vegas, they have kits, lots of flavors, and you can mix up your own juice however your heart desires. Oh and also a good little program to give you an idea of how much of everything to use is "E Juice Me Up"

Welcome and congrats on 1 1/2 years! I've been loving my Subtank Mini as well. I didn't have as bad of an experience with high PG juices, but I can't handle it either. Way too much throat hit and made my lungs burn. I'm also on the Juice Quest at this point, as well as starting to try my hand at building my own coils with the RBA option for the Subtank.

Hey JKS, just be careful and do a lot of homework before trying to build your own, can be dangerous, and or hurt your device if done incorrectly, just a heads up.

Yeah, I haven't ventured into wrapping my own coils yet - Waiting for payday to get an ohm meter and other tools. I don't plan on going lower than .5 any time soon, and have a few threads around here bookmarked for when I'm ready. So far the most I've done is wick the pre-wrapped coils that came along with the RBA section.

That's cool, and a good place to start, it's a fun hobby building your own once you get the hang of it. I just built my brand new piece, built a Tobh mod with four coils! Its a beast!
