1 amp regulator

Just thought I better check before I solder this together.
I picked up a 276-1770 +5vdc voltage regulator but it is only 1 amp output current.
I am going to use 2 14500s in series. Is this puppy going to burn up when I use it?

Don is right, that is the better place to look.

It might not burn up. That 1 amp rating is for continuous use. You can probably pull 3 or 4 amps intermittently. If it gets real hot, you need to heat-sink it.
