So I am on my second day of being analog free. I am vaping alot more than I smoked, but I have had no cravings for a "real" cigarette. Well other than I would like to try an analog just to compare the flavor and feel to my e-cig, but no feelings of "I NEED a cigarette!"

I only smoked between 1/2 and 1 pack a day, but I have tried quitting several times before with nicorette, snus, herbal cigs, cold turkey, etc. and I always craved a cigarette. I would chew a couple pieces of nicorette to death or use a pouch or two of snus and then have a cig right after and feel sick from all the nicotine.

It really surprises me that I feel satisfied and have not felt the need for an analog.

Similar situation for me coming off 20-30 cigs/day. I was able to stop the analogs two days after I started vaping. vaping more than smoking is normal. My theory is that constant vaping is providing some basic level of nicotine concentration all the time whereas smoking would provide peaks of nicotine followed by valleys. In the valley, you would likely crave another cigarette and so the cycle went. Of the few studies on e-cigs available to read on the Web, one suggests that you take in less nicotine vaping. Perhaps another reason some of us tend to 'vape heavily'.

Perhaps it is because of the convenience of vaping. With cigarettes I used to have to leave my office and walk a bit as opposed to vaping where I can do it wherever so I never really have the crazy withdrawl from the nicotine.

I will agree though that vaping has helped me cut from a pack a day, down to 1.5 over the past 2 days since I got my e stick. Honestly I feel that this is the best thing to help quit smoking that has been created. It mimics the action of cigarettes while chewing gum or the patch offers no movement or activity.

Being able to vape at the desk is nice. Yesterday it was raining and instead of going outside and getting soaked just to have a smoke, I could vape inside and stay nice and dry.

I think this has alot to do with the satisfaction I get from my e-cig.

So, you're at your desk while you vape. Prior to this, you would have to leave your desk to go outside and smoke, yes?

Doc, I think you deserve a raise for being more productive! =)

(I brought this up at my jobsite and was told [ jokingly] -- "I should-a fired ya when you were taking unscheduled smoke breaks!")

Drgrabber - if you don't need a cigarette - don't do it - at least not now.
You can safely do it after about a month. It will taste like dog donuts!
I tried it just last month and choked - couldn't even inhale it. I have no desire for it.

I quit analogs five months ago after my second day.

I definitely vaped a lot more than I smoked - why - because I could.

I think I have since cut down on vaping - but will never completely give it up. - why - I love it tooooooo much!

I can't speak for everyone, but after almost 40 years of smoking 2 packs a day, I started vaping, and that was the last puff I took off an analog. Patches and gum and hypnosis dodn't work...I'm in my third month of not even one puff, but the way I did it was, even in the bar with friends smoking all around me, I said to myself "If I take one puf, it won't be my last" and have won the battle.

I'm also at 1 day. I've been a 1 pack to 1 1/2 packs a day smoker for 20 years now :( I've tried quitting so many times it is just not even funny and even my family knows to avoid me when I've tried, it gets ugly.
I've only had 3 regular cigs today and I'm not feeling stressed and like a atomic bomb about to go off due to .."Omg I need a ciggie" and for me that's amazing in itself.
I noticed I have been vaping a bit more than I smoke usually but I imagine it will taper off.
I'm so thankful I don't have to go outside anymore especially since summer in Florida is hot, humid and miserable.

I am at day 24 now. The first 4 days I smoked 7 analogs total, so officially analog free for 20 days. I'm glad I can vape this thing in the house instead of hanging out in my garage all day. I smoked around 25 analogs a day before I started vaping, sometimes more.
I dont think I vape much more than I smoked, but I'm not sure.
I ordered 18mg juice this time and it is stronger than the juice I had previously from Johnson Creek & another company. I started diluting to about half strength with VG because its just too much, gives me a headache, since I vape so often. The plus side now is, it lasts me twice as long :) I'm addicted to Dr. Pepper & Watermelon flavors.
I tried Nicorette gum before, but it made me feel sick and whoozy. I also tried the patch, but it gave me a rash wherever I stuck it, even if I cut it in to 1/4 size pieces. I smoked when I had the patch on too, so that was really unhelpful.

I just had to reply and say im on day 6. Yay me!!!! I still want an analog but i keep hanging on to a thought i got on the forums. Even 1 analog will just keep me addicted to all the other chemicals. Hang in there dr.

Congratulations! When I switched to vaping only a few months ago, the first week I still had cravings, but after that short time I was so proud of myself that it became much easier. Keep up the good work!
