1 hole, 2 holes, 1 slot, 2 slots..why so different?

After reading through so many threads, I just can't figure this out. When using carto's in a tank, why is it that what works for one person doesn't work for the other. Example, in all the carto's I've used, I only need one hole. 2 holes & I get airy hits a tend to gurgle after a while. Smoketech's forget about it. Anything more then a pin size hole & it turns into a flooded beast, so I'm mainly speaking of single coil boge type. Being that I vape 100% vg I started out trying 2 dremel slots like Phil shows. Floods way to easy for me. Went to one slot. Again floods. Deep, shallow, all the same end result. 2 saddle puched hole's & I have to go really small & shallow to not flood. One hole to big from the saddle valve & get light gurgles. For me I've found that 1 hole just a half a turn past the pop is works best, but that's just me.

I now only use 3ohm boge's & constantly read how different holes & slots need to be for everyone. Especially pertaining to the exact same carto's I use. Some say only a certain percent ratio works, all vg won't work or doesn't work well. My carto's in a cart last a really long time, for me, & that's w/100%vg.

What could be so different?

I'm thinking maybe it's the differance's in the draw? I don't know. What do you think?

Combination of the voltage/resistance you use, and how you draw on it. Under powered and to hard a draw and they will gurgle and flood.
If you cause positive pressure in the tank or to much vacuum inside the carto they flood.
The size of the hole doesn't seem to cause the flooding, but if they're to small it can cause scorching a carto.

However the most common cause of flooding is pressurizing the tank when filling it. Never take an end cap off to refill. Pushing the end cap back in causes pressure. That pressure forces juice out.

I been thinking about the pressure inside the tank. I use tanks with screw holes & no screw hole's & tried several different things. No matter what I do I can't get 2 slots to work for me. I use a provari & played around with low, high, & everything on between. No big deal being that I know what works for me. Speaking of which..

I agree about the smoktech's even with 100% vg they always seem to flood after a day or so but with my boge I slot 2 holes with my dremel and they never flood on me I tried the saddle value but my thick juice doesn't seem to wick so I'm a 2 slot dremel girl

:pEven my thickest juice, boba's, 2 slots won't work for me. I am curious as to what kind of set up you use?

I also have been experiencing minor flooding with the 3-hole smoktechs. It seems that after a day or so on a fresh carto I will begin to get the small drop accumulate on my battery connector. I am using 1.7 and 2.0 ohm single coils on an eGo-T with both a thin (menthol vg/pg) and a thick juice (coffee pg). Interesting point, I do not seem to experience this with the 1-hole smoketech 1.5 ohm dual coils. Its not that big of a deal right now, but it does get annoying. I have yet to find a way to mitigate it.

provari's @ around 5.4v 3 ohm boge DYI - 100% vg and I don't thin it so its pretty thick

I use the Boge XL 3.0 cartomizer, med size holes, 2 stair stepped up the side. I use p60/v30 most of the time. I get no problems at all. I use VPX and Not Cig tanks with holes in the side. I also live at sea level. Smoketech tanks always just run out for me.

If I used 100 a thick VG juice it might be different. Or it might be the same, just because a juice is 100percent VG doesn't mean it's any thicker. Stuff I just got from Virgin Vapors is organic and all VG and seems just as viscous as my other juices. No more no less.

For people new to tanks recommed trying a flavor you like from Vaporcast Store, or Ivape (proprietary mixes no options) punch or slot one good size hole in a Boge Reg 3.0 cartomizer in a Not Cig (or other one with a screw) tank. Prefill your carto before you punch it, let it sit for a day. Unless you live in Alps this is taking out all the variables. VV devise at 4.8v.

The last smoketec pre punched carto I used I punched a second hole with the sadle valve punch. It was fairly large compared to the other hole but it lasted over week with a 50/50 juice. When the carto did go it fell apart at the base of the carto.
I had 2 large saddle valve punches on a boge and couldnt get it to suck in any juice at all.

    Good luck.
