Whew!!! Both my DH & I have made the 1 month mark today. I can hardly say how exciting that is for me as both of us are 40+ years, 1 1/2 pk@ now ex-smokers. I thank God that we found e-cigs.

We really didn't intend to quit. I'd been down that road way too many times & gave up the notion of ever quitting. Originally I bought the e-cigs so when we visited family we wouldn't have to go out in the cold & rain to smoke a cig. After we got our e-cigs, we ran out of analogs & said "What the heck?" And we both quit right then. This has been the easiest "quit" I have ever used. It hasn't been a total walk in the park, I still have cravings, but they are getting fewer & farther between...
...just vape like crazy until it passes. :vapor:
:toast:It also helps that where I live, people in the community are very supportive. We go out & we can use them at the bar. Makes me love where I live even more.

At the month mark I can say that:
1. I physically feel wonderful. (Can hardly wait to see how I feel at year.) I "danced" with a Kinnect the other day with my DD. She was breathing hard & I was hardly breathing. Look at my sig!!! All the analogs I HAVEN'T smoked. WOW! :D
2. I can smell again & I don't stink. My house & car smell much better. When winter is over, I'll do a serious car clean out.
3. I can sing again. I realized this the other day when we were driving around & I was actually singing the high notes. That is really major because I love to sing. Used to sing in an A Cappella choir & cigs killed that one.
4. E-Cigs have also saved us $$$$. Double my sig dollars (for Hubby) & that's our total saved less $249.00 for all of our stuff. :2c::2c::2c::2c:

I have to thank everyone here at ECF for all the great encouragement, experiences, advice, & knowledge.

Today as a little celebration party gift (must be a sign), I received my 2 XL 808's that I had ordered, red & blue...very pretty too.
My DH isn't happy with my color choice. Oh well, he can have the black ones.:p

Thanks everyone! Really appreciate the congrats & the encouragement. ECFer's have helped me understand some of the "tough, rough spots" in the road.

Still smoke free & loving every minute of it. Hubby split up a bunch of wood today & I hauled. Neither of us wheezed or coughed or were short of breath. The other day I stacked a full cord of wood by myself (it was delivered in a heap & needed stacked). Loved the feeling of not gasping for breath all the time.

As a side note - Both of us used to snore. The other day it dawned on me that my DH hasn't snored in 4 weeks. I don't think I do anymore as it would wake me up sometimes & my DH says he hasn't noticed it either. Who would have thunk it? A little added side bonus.

I am so blessed that we stumbled upon e-cigs & are now free from analogs.

I just realized that my dear hubby & I have NOT smoked 121.5 packs of analogs since we quit (as of this very moment in time - the counter updates constantly). Double the numbers in my signature counter and that total would equal what DH & I used to smoke together. My gosh!!!! I am thrilled, not to mention how much better I feel. I have absolutely no desire to ever go back to those stinkin' things again. Lousy, killer stix. And the $$$ savings is kind of nice too. To date we've spent about $350 on equipment, ejuices, & stuff to start DIYing (arrives Friday).
I am so blessed :vapor:

So happy for both of you!!! How awesome that you're able to celebrate your getting off of stinkies together!

My story is incredibly similar to yours, right down to the 40 year, 1 1/2 PAD habit and not really intending to quit. Even our starting time on the ecigs is about the same.

I wholeheartedly agree that the support, knowledge and encouragement of the wonderful folks on this forum have been a tremendous blessing to me and a big part of the reason for my success.

Be blessed!
Gloria

Smoked around 40 years and bought my first when I went to visit my daughter cause I didn't want to go out in the yuck. Also didn't want to go through the hassle getting the smoke smell off me after every time I had one. I figured I'd be back to smoking once I left but I never went back and now I'm closing in on my 3 three anniversary of being smoke free. This will be you and hubby one day. :)

Big congrats!!

My DH & I are now over 2 months cig-free. Have saved over $900 for the both of us. Have spent more than I should have on vaping, but we are still in the profit column. (Getting into DIYing :) )

We feel great, smell great, can breath better than I can remember. The only problem is now I have to relearn to cook. Smoking wreaked havoc & now I am tasting food the way it really tastes, not smoke-flavored. Hence, I am having a problem getting flavors the way I think they should be. Hmmm. Send me to cooking school Husband

It is so nice walking into my house & not thinking how badly it stinks. And my hair smells good. I can sing again. The list goes on & on.

I really never thought I would ever quit smoking. I had tried SO many times with disastrous results every time. Vaping has been a real joy.

So congrats to each & everyone who has quit the analogs. We have done a great job. I am living proof that cigarettes do not have to have a strangle hold on or dictate my life.
