How about an eVic? Firmware upgradeable, VV/VW, customizable display, 18650 & 18350 modes, custom vape modes that you can create yourself, passthrough mode it you want... Not better than a ProThingy, just a lot more than a ProThingy. Set you back about $99.00 for a kit with battery depending on where you shop.

I was kidding a bit about the Provari in post #9. If you want to fill the APV voids left by the Provari look at the Sigelei Zmax Telescopic V3 or V5. Both are very well-built, full featured APVs. V3 will give you these features the Provari can't: battery versatility with 18350, 18490, 18500, 18650 and 2x18350 without optional extension tubes, VV/VW operation, 510/eGo threading with one-piece stainless steel threading, the smallest size of all VV/VW tube mods at all battery sizes, removable top cap and a superior OLED display screen. V5 will add two additional features to what is found on V3: cell phone charger and a puff counter.

The other void left by the Provari (and Sigelei) APVs is sub-ohm vaping if you want it. For that you want either a quality mech mod and suitable batteries or a DNA type APV. You might have a hard time finding a DNA rig at the price you are looking at.

I just grabbed the new legend 2 for a little under a hundred. If it's anything like my legend one it rips. Plus it's made of a thicker build and now it telescopes.

^^^ I'm not aware that Sigelei makes anything like you are describing. I'm guessing you mean the Innokin Cool Fire 1 and the Cool Fire 2 that use 18350 batteries. The Cool Fire 1 is fixed 8.5 watts and the Cool Fire 2 looks like a hand grenade.
