I read about the trick in the sigelei mech mods thread in the APV discussion. I don't remember who mentioned it but it works like a charm.

It has brass contacts on it already. You have to sand off the chrome. As for the cup and spring, ditch the spring, it will hurt your conductivity. Sand the outside and top of the cup down to the brass. Now to take up the slack in the battery you unscrew the cup from the bottom cap and I put a white carto mouthpiece ovet the threads to take up some space. Screw it back into the bottom cap and trim it flish with the outside of the cup with the razor. It doesn't have to be perfect but if you don't do that, it will impede the switch making contact with the cup. Then put the battery in and adjust the bottom cup until you have the battery snug and rattle free.

It very well could of been WinchellNomNom, gotta check again. And I will be doing the refinish that he did too. It does look stunning!
A lot of good discussion over in the APV subforum for the Sigelei Mechanical Mods I just realized. Did it happen to be the user, WinchellNomNom? That guy did an excellent job refinishing his Sigs.

You can't go wrong with any of the mods mentioned. The sigelei #19, #8, and the natural are all pretty easy to mod and perform very well after doing so. I have been more than happy considering how cheap they are.

A Chi Chi...or cc kts and a sig #8 in there. Both great. The sig is something you can change a tire with, its that solid. The cckts is lighter but the switch is mich nicer. Both hit good and each were less than 45.

To the refinishing of the sigelei's, there is a detail somewhere in the 1k comment sig thread....but it is like this....old 510 atty on the head...attach to drill, spin drill and sand with 800 then 1000 then 2000. Or so...the buff with metal polish. Bottom end, remove springs and insert negetive post into drill chuck...repeat sanding and buffing steps. All materials, incliding sand paper, can be purchased at pep boys or auto parts store.

I like mine silver.

I have a few cheapo mods. The best one in my opinion is the K100. It's smaller than any of my Segeleis, is telescopic, built like truck, and requires no modding to get it to work well. The only drawback I can think of is that it doesn't have a flat top cap. I would recommend this mod to anyone. It is really good quality and quite cheap.
