100% VG Base

Hi, all

I'm into DiY e-liquids and I have a question, hope you guys can help me. I ordered pure nicotine and rather than just making 100% PG base, I'm thinking of making some 100% VG base as well.

My doubt is this: I usually dilute the VG with distilled water (20%), should I be doing this for the base and then also for the VG I use on preparing the e-liquid? Or should I keep the 20% distilled water on the base and then use plain VG? I'm worried about the final percentage of distilled water in the e-liquid.

I would suggest not diluting it with water until the base and VG is in the bottle you are making. That way you know that it will actually be 20% distilled water and it won't mess up your nicotine amount. Of course use an e-liquid calculator to calculate how much of each ingredient you need to add to get your final mix. You can always treat the distilled water as a "flavoring" for the purpose of dilution and know that your mix will be 80 VG/20 H20 if you are not adding flavors that are in PG form.

EDIT: Also when you say you ordered pure nicotine and are making a base what exactly do you mean by pure nicotine? Usually nicotine in its highest strength comes in 100mg and is either mixed in PG, VG, or a mixture of both.

Your suggestion of mixing the water later in the calc is a good one but I'm worried the VG is too thick to prepare the nicotine base hence the water dilution... (Responding to PhatRon) - sorry, not used to forums...

With 100% VG, it will be VERY thick and will most likely clog your setup. Keep that in mind. And pure nicotine... what do you mean by that... be careful with that stuff...

No worries, not a first timer here I know VG is very thick so the problem with distilled water dilution comes up...

I have tried 100 VG and it was just to thick to vape for a long period of time. I try to buy liquids as close to 50/50 as i can.

Yeah, myself I like to vape 70/30 The idea is to have a 100% VG base and then make e-liquids of it. I think I'll try 10% water dilution in the base and 10% water in the VG used for the rest of the e-liquid making.

I just tried 80/20 Dilution VG, diluted with H2O/ Having High Blood Pressure issues, Numbing around the lips and mouth, Upper Respiratory Issues, Just a word of advice... Be careful.. Been using 80/20 Pg/Vg... had to go back to it, thought I was having a problem with either the nicotine or the pg but after a process of elimination I found it to be the Vg...

Some people are allergic either to PG or VG or both... If you are having troubles with the VG you can try 100% PG e-liquids. The aromas are usually PG diluted.

wow! VG can alter your blood presure?! that's scary.
I order my nic from nude nicotine in their 100% VG mixture and mix that with with their 100% VG.

It is very thick, but if you put your mixing vial in to a cup of hot water for a little bit it really makes it easy to mix -- then just shake it until it becomes opaque with air bubble and you're good to go

I've never put any water in to any of my homemade juice.

Actually high blood pressure is more likely to be related to nicotine levels. Just mentioned allergies because of the numbness...

well I'm using 0 nicotine, made the switch to 100% PG and doing much better
