I just purchased one of these:

ikenvape192.corecommerce.com/mod-shop/510-Laser-Personal-Vaporizer-p17.html

But it needs 10440 (AAA Li-Ion) batteries. Does anyone know any place local that carries them, as well as a charger? I'm going to Home Depot this morning to see if they carry them, but I don't have high hopes. It would suck tremendously to have my new PV but not be able to use it because I don't have any power 8-o

Thanks,
David

Hey David

Be carefull on this one. You need to know if it takes protected or unprotected 10440 batteries. Most of the Laser pointer mods are set up for unprotected and the protected batteries are too long.

Since he is selling unprotected on his site, I would stick with that format.

I seriously doubt you find anything in town but let us all know if you do.

Last resort -- I could loan you a charger and couple batteries to get you by the wait.

@Martin2277 Yeah, he didn't have the batteries when I ordered or I would've got them all at the same time :-x Also, he's out of the chargers for those batteries.

@pipes1 I emailed him asking which he recommended. Since the PV takes only 1 batt, he said either are fine. I have some one the way, so here's to hoping they get here *just* before the PV, lol!

However, I am very interested in your loaner offer....

Btw, the Batteriesplus brick&morter store didn't even know they made 3.7v LiIon batteries in the AAA size... figures

I'm at about the farthest point one can be from you and still be in the Metro Phoenix area, LOL. Surprise, to be more specific. However, if they haven't gotten here by Sat, I'll give you a holler and make the trek to your perilous land. Could I ask a favor and have them already charged? Y'know, just in case my new PV is here and all :)

What part of the valley are you in?
I am at 101 and Elliott, in Chandler.

I would be happy to loan them to you, if yours don't show in time.

LOL! I need find a way to lurk more stealthily :D

I'm not sure if I like it yet. I got the other batteries Sat and I'm still trying to figure out actual battery life (not too happy so far) and if I can deal with the added weight of the unit + battery.

I'm not sure if it's my lack of ability in managing batteries (which I've used, which are fresh, etc) or the batteries in general, but, they don't seem to hold their charge very long. i.e. I had some batteries that showed 100% charge, took them off the charger, next morning, couldn't get a decent vape to save my life. I'm hoping its a battery conditioning issue, and not a characteristic of this type of battery :( If it is (characteristic), I might just go back to my tried and true standard 510 batts, but titanium this time.

Also, I miss my LED's. It's a much easier way to tell if the battery is dead or not, rather than trying 4-5 times to get a vape before figuring it out, LOL

I'm giving it/them a few more days before I decide, though.

You'll only get around 4 hours of of those 10440 batteries when new. MUCH less to pay in the long run than the 510 megas.

The smaller the mod/battery, the less run time. Depends on the mAh rating of the batteries as well. I know that the 10440 (not sure what the mAh are of the ones I loaned you are, they came with passthroughs). I'm assuming they're 360 mAh.

Could be the charger? Dunno... I don't think I've used my laser as the only PV for all day to really know how long it would last. Pretty sure I was getting at least 3 hours though.

They're incorrectly labelled at 600 mAh (from what I've read, they're actually about 350). I can't try you're charger because they're too tall to fit in it  However, I used the batteries you lent me in both chargers, and the effect was the same: 1-1 1/2 hours foggin' time.

It's possible that I got 4 bad batteries, though...

I did learn one valuable lesson. Dont take off the little protective wrapper from these things.

OMG David! LOL... don't use them!! Did you strip off all of your new batteries? Or just one and then said "OOPS!"?

I average 2 1/2 times the vaping hours of a standard e-cig. To put this in overal hours really depends on your vaping style but should be signifantly longer than the standards.

The real improvement should be in the time before they start to loose power. The 10440s, and other mod batteries, don't drop off as fast but seem to loose quickly when they start to go. This amounts to a longer time at higher voltage and better overall performance.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Hope everything works out

If you are talking about the Chameleon you have to play around with the base. You have to screw it and unscrew it while you hold down the button until you start to get vapor. This seems to be a known issue with this model. I have it and that's what I have to do. Kind of a pain but when you get it going it vapes really nice.
