Just bought my Ultrafire 10440 batteries along with a charger from battery junction.

Put both of the batteries in and they showed charged. Than I took my battery that I'd been using for around an hour and put it in. Still showed charged.

batteries had lousy life. This made me suspicious. So went home with the empty batteries and charged them on the UltraFire charger. Afterwards I took batteries out and charged them on the chargers (I have two) that came with my cigars originally.

They have been charging for more than 1 hour. The chargers have auto cutoffs that register when the battery is charged and is not on a timer.

Either I have a defective charger or the Ultra Charger is designed to charge to a lower limit to conserve battery life.

Any ideas?

My ultrafire charger charges to 4.08V. OK I guess, it's safe and makes batteries last longer.

The only way to know for sure how yours is working is to put a voltmeter on the batteries when they are done charging. Anywhere between 4.0 and 4.2 is good.

(My trustfire charger is opposite, it charges to 4.25, which is a little higher than I'd like)
