10X Vanilla Extract

I found a recipe for 10X Vanilla Extract. I'm trying to find a vanilla that tastes like vanilla, but doesn't contain any iffy custard notes. My question is: Is 10X necessary to get a good vanilla flavor. The only thing along this line, that I have found on the forum, is that Vanilla extract is too weak for vaping. Can anyone clear this up for me?

I got some that's made with PG. I guess it's 7X strength. Found it vapable at about 4% and it wasn't bad at all, but in the end it didn't 'work' for me as something I could vape a lot of.
