Bought my first e-cig today and gave a half carton away at the office so they wouldn't be setting there looking so tempting after dinner.... I'm extremely happy with my decision and feel great about it so far, but an disappointed in what my local vapor shop sold me.
I got the itaste vv iTaste VV V3.0 - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin
With the iclear 16 dual coil clearomizer...

I'm looking for something with a much larger "throat hit" I'm by no means wanting to smoke out a room like I've found some videos of when googling best vapor ecigs... but would really appreciate some guidance to something that I might enjoy a little more.

Thanks everyone and nice to meet you all!

All right, congrats on the quit and for finding us early! Welcome to ECF!

Take it you haven't been e-cigging long. It's different, it's not smoking my friend...but it can fulfill that burn you're familiar with. Throat hit comes generally from a combination of a few things...the nicotine, the temperature the liquid is vaporized at and often times the liquid itself. Some juices have more, some have less...cinnamons tend to hit pretty hard, I can tell you that. You can try more voltage, or maybe a different juice...if you can take it (and want it), more nicotine would help too...but I don't recommend taking more than your body needs.

In the meantime, you're getting your nicotine so you won't experience withdrawl symptoms. It's a bit tough to get used to, but not too tough. Your body will crave that throat hit, that feeling, that experience of a real cigarette...and you'll want to smoke no matter what vaping feels like or does to you. But if you can stick it out, you might surprised how you occasionally enjoy a cooler vape sometimes and how the hours turn into days, the days turn into weeks, then months and so on...and it just gets easier.

Stick to it and you'll be rewarded with a better feeling about yourself overall in a few days. You'll want to vape, you'll enjoy it once you see how it improves your life. Good luck on your journey!

Welcome to ECF, congrats on giving up the stinkys. U have a fine setup there.

Best bet is to read lots here, and take your time.

Usually for TH, u need a higher nic, like 24, then cut back if u see fit etc.

Drink lots of water while Vapeing to not dry out, and backups of your Vapeing supplies is a real good thing, wouldn't want a battery to fail and now u have nothing to Vape. Just like having a carton of smokes etc.

Water and backups for your backups are your friends.

Best to move up to 24mg to start, kills the cravings and has more throat hit. An RDA (Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer) is a do it yourself delivery device where you wind your own coils and through trial and error get a different vaping experience, dripping a few drops of liquid at a time. I would not recommend starting there as it is somewhat complex and the first priority is getting off cigarettes with things that work out of the box.

Depends on the shop. Many only carry their own liquid and aren't very flexible. Good vape shops let you try samplers to find something you'd like. If you tell us where you are located we might be able to help you find what's nearby. The web is still the best source for variety, but you can spend quite a bit buying sample packs. If there's a local vape meetup it gives you a chance to try other flavors too.

Nate, congrats on quitting analogs! Even if you don't live close enough to a store, some online retailers have sample sizes in different nicotine strengths and PG vs VG ratios which allow you to try out several of them for a small fee. That way you don't end up with a huge bottle of juice you don't want. A good place to start is the "Forum Suppliers" tab above -- good luck!

Vapor Kings - Tulsa Oklahoma Electronic Cigarettes Supplies has locations in the Tulsa area, but that's quite a ways east. They do have a large selection of liquids, including Halo. I keep thinking you might like Halo's Torque 56, a strong tobacco that may hit the spot. That said, it looks like Wootown has samples you can try out, so hopefully you'll get a good fit quickly. Good luck!

Ok here is some of the things i wish i would have known when i gave them up.

First off: Your throat is going to get SORE AS HELL! and im not kidding, ask anyone here. Drink LOTS of water, serious. Even if it doesnt hurt now, it will! I promise. But dont let that stop you, its normal for your body to adjust. The cigs have numbed your throat and now that your not constantly burning it your going to start feeling the effects the cigs did to your throat. So drink about 5-6 cups of water a day from here on out. Thats a MINIMUM!

Second: That throat hit your after definately comes from more nic. The flavors and blends do matter also! Go find a liquid with 18-24 mg nic about 70%pg 30%Vg and give that a go. This is not always true though, my first liquid was 100% vg "Marb" Blend from Spokane Super Sauce. Though it did not taste like marbs, it was still good. Tasted something like pancakes. lol.

Third: Your going to get vaping down pretty quick and want more and better things. Im a month in and have a boot box(Not a shoe box) Full of vaping equipment and supplies. Anywhere from mods(Fancy way of saying upgraded batteries), backup ego batts, DIY Liquids, DIY Coils and RDA's and etc. So that normal amount you would normally spend on cigs for the first month or two or three will probably end up going into vaping. Thats perfectly normal! Probably a smart thing to do! When you hear people say get backups for your backups for your backups, they arent kidding. You will read plenty of horror stories about how people burn out therir backups backups and have to use a stinky.

Lastly: Welcome to ECF! I have found it has guided me, helped me and most of all supported me in those moments where all i wanted to do was go grab a cig and smoke it. If you want to quit and have the determination you definitely will! Welcome my friend!

Derick.

The problem with an RDA is twofold:
a) you're gonna like it too much (great vape)
b) it's not gonna work great on your iTaste v3 if you're running your RDA hard at about 1.3ohms - you'll cane your iTaste battery in no time at all.

So...you'll then want a bigger battery (device)! :) Which I suppose you'll go n' get :)

Plus.. IIRC, your iTaste only goes to 11 Watts? You'll want to go a little more than that. On my RDA, running at 1.2ohms (go lower and most VV/VW devices will just refuse to operate (safety limit hit), I'm running it at 11.5W. So not really suited to my iTaste v3. I run it on my Tesla (what I'd call a poor mans Provari). Got the big 18650 battery. And it goes to 15W.

Edit: My cheapo RDA is built with 3 strands of 3mm silica wick, and 4 wraps of .5 x .1 kanthal ribbon (I'm likin' the ribbon).

When I build it, regardless of the kanthal wire, I underwrap, pop it in place, and measure the resistance - if too low, I wrap one more , and redo - until I get 1.3 or so (aiming at 1.3 - I have 1.2 right now - perfect/lucky).
