134 Mini not firing at 7 and 8 watts

Hi,
I've had my 134 mini since last March. In the last few days it stopped firing on 7 and 8 watts. I just get the blinking red light. I discovered, however, that it works normally if I use 8.5 watts or above. Anyone have an idea what might be the problem and if I can fix it myself?

Probable causes:
Atomizer coil resistance too low
Battery charge is low
Battery connections need cleaning

I tested the resistance on my Provari and it is at 2 ohms so that should not be a problem. I have tried freshly charged batteries with no luck. I looked at the battery connections but did not notice anything amiss. Still, I will take the thing apart when I get a chance and clean it up. thx
